You will miss school.

I and everyone i know at college does. Less work, more play. The only thing i don't miss about school is the restrictions, but i would gladly go back even with the high restrictions.

I am actually dreading leaving school (well sixth form).

Leaving year 11 was ok, because I knew I could come back if I wanted to. But leaving sixth form, I don't have that option. I can never go back to school. It's quite scary when you think about it, I've been at school for, what, 13 years? And in 5 days time, it's all going to be over...forever ^_^

I think a tear or two will be shed at the leaver's dinner/dance. Knowing that the majority of my friends are moving across the other side of the country to go to university, and that I will only ever see them a few times a year is quite sad really :P

I wouldn't say I enjoy school. I just like being around the people there. Being at sixth form is SO different to being at "school". Everybody's attitude is completly different, and you don't get the dicks who mess around and cause trouble.

Ah well....let the countdown begin! 5 days to go...

I'm finishing school tomorrow, it will be a relief to get away from the teachers ect but leaving behind all your school social life is quite bad as your leaving behind most of your good mates

Finished school on tuesday, and then tuesday night I was riding when my profile starting making strange noises. Got home, took it apart, and all the tiny bearings inside jus fell out. Think it might be a sign to tell me to revise and not ride. ^_^

When I finished school I was so happy. 5 years on and I've never ever missed it. I've only kept in touch with two people from school, and I've moved house since which means I don't see anybody out and about either.

After school I went to college for 3 years, and I don't really miss anybody from there either, although I do have 4 or 5 people on MSN that I can always chat to if I'm feeling nostalgic.

Then there's university. I don't live on Campus, I live at home. Have never been out with anyone from uni so I'm not particularly close to anybody. I've been at university for 2 years, so I have just the one year left. Can't wait until it's finished so I can move out of my mum and dad's house, get a place with my girlfriend and go and get a proper job.

So... don't go telling people they'll miss school, because I certainly haven't.

I'd be the saying the same thing that George has said, but I had to move away after Year 11 (well, two weeks of Year 12) and I really regret not being with my proper mates for these two years, as 6th Form is soooooooooo much better when you're with people you know, when I moved to Essex I made quite a few buddys, but they all left college after Year 12 as it wasn't for them so now I'm at college with people who I get along with, but they aren't real buddys.

It sucks :P

Being at school is cool though, as you don't have to sit and worry about what you wanna do with your life, if you're like me and lacking that direction of a career choice then it is pretty daunting. You will have the best Summer holiday though, my Summer holidays after Year 11 were awesome, soo many parties, and you're still hanging about with all the people you knew from School, when it comes to 6th Form you sorta make your circle of friends closer as there are less people. Cherish these times guys, as you'll be reminiscing about them in years to come with (what will become) old mates ^_^

School is so cut off from the real world, i saw it more as social event than somewhere to actually learn. I left last year and to be fair just going past the place makes me think " thank f**k i left that shit hole ". Dont like most of my old friends anymore for some reason.. uni friends are much better in my opinion.

Well today I supposed to have gone to my leaving assembly but I didn't wake up and I'm annoyed because I wanted to go,

I will miss school, although I hate it i want to go all time. I will be working with my dad on an apprentice after school also.

My exam dates are between 25th May and 16th June, I only got 8 exams, only Maths, Science, English, and Religous Studies. I am going to crack on with my exams because they are my future for if I decide to get a different job I will have something behind me hoefully.

Good Luck to every one who is leaving school, hope you enjoy life etc.

I left school 2 years ago and Im now at college. I have 100% attendance at college in these last 2 years ( even went in the day after I busted my face) because it is such a nice place to be.

School I had around 63% attendance in year 12 and that was one of the better years. I hated the place, disgusted me something shocking. I miss nothing about it and no one in it.

Dont expect anything, uni is just like school except your home is your halls. You dont even notice being away from family, infact i hate to say it but sometimes i dont like going home due to having to deal with the same shit going on before i went to uni. Uni is best thing ever made.... ever infact.

I don't really miss school. I got picked on from about yr 7 to 10 so I don't miss that! And I didn't really like the lessons, history lessons that made me sleep, hockey lessons in the rain... ooo the fun!

6th form was very different.... more chilled out and could pick the subjects, and best of all i met DJ.

I left 6th form after I sat the AS levels for many reasons, but mostly because I couldn't face going back there without DJ and couldn't face the 2 faced people that never spoken to me before but suddenly wanted to be my best mate because my boyfriend had died.

I would say being chucked out into the real world is hard but I haven't done that yet as I still live at home and I don't have to pay my parents much and I don't pay the bills. All the money I earn I basically can spend however I want.

I do work though and what I will say is that it is hard to find a job that you like and pays well.

The one thing that I do miss about school is my friends, i didn't keep in contact with most of them and finding time to see the ones i'm still in contact with is hard.

I think after the 'YAY i left school' most people will thing 'oh gawd I got to grow up now'.

So everyone who's leaving school have fun and good luck in your exams! xxxx

Going to hight school from primary school did wonders for me.

In primary school I was a bit geeky and probably no classed as "funny" etc.

When I got to high school, the combination of new surroundings and new friends really changed me and I really developed my own charcter in my opinion.

I loved high school. Even thought I didnt do much work I came out with great GCSE results and great friends.

6th form is where things went downhill. While most of my friends remained, some of my best didnt and the fact that it was so much easier to not do work, but it was far more necceassary ruined me. I dont think ive done any work for the las 18 months. Dont remember the last homework I did. Currently hating every day and simply cannot wait for tuesday when its over.

Early this year I decided against UNI and changed over to doing something more practical.

Finished school today.

Its a bit weird actually.

Ive kind of taken for granted the fact that I see people 5 days a week for the last 5 years of my life!

Of course I will try to stay in touch with some people but you cant stay in touch with everyone.

Signing the shirts was fun though!

Thanks,

Callum

EDIT: Btw Raub are you in 1st or 2nd year of college if 1st ill see you there!

Not really, when you're at school you get on with everybody, but as soon as you leave you lose contact and realise that you were only mates because you saw each other everyday for 5 years.

Valid point.

Don't think I've ever really gone out for a night out with friends from school or anything, and I only see some of them at work. I don't really mind though. There are people around here I'll probably miss, mostly riding friends, but I'll still see them for a bit.

The people I'm going to miss most, weirdly, are the teachers (Y) 'cos I know them all pretty well. Our school has 6th form in it too, so it means that I've known them all for the last 5-6 years, and in sixth form you almost always get on a LOT better with teachers. They give you a LOT more respect, and it's just a really nice friendly relationship with them. So yeah, I think I'm going to miss some of them really. Because I'm not going to uni after that "UCAS Incident", I'm not gonna have anything to do for a year apart from try and move or something. So yeah, I know I'm gonna miss going to school. It's just a hugely important time of your life, and for me it's about to end, so that's a bit of a downer. I didn't really miss it after Year 11, but I've started to like it 10x more after sixth form. Sixth form really is damn good :P

So yeah, mixed feelings really. I don't really find it bad at the moment, even though we've just had some hella tight coursework deadlines (Managed to get 131/150 for my D&T Coursework, despite putting in less than half the effort of the people who got higher marks than me. I've properly got "Minimum effort/maximum reward" dialled :D). After finishing the D&T deadline though, it was like "Whoa, never, ever going to have to do D&T again!" Then I remembered that I had to finish Art for tomorrow, so that's a downer, but still - it's all good that that's over.

But anyway, people should post back in 6 months or whatever and say what they're up to :deej:
