Sameer
Well, it appears there's another one of these blasted Star Wars majiggies coming out this Friday - the last one, apparently. Hmm, I suppose I'm not really in a position to use many adjectives for the film, since I've never actually seen any of them in full flames. I mean, I saw about 13 minutes of the one that came on telly a couple of months ago (God knows which) and it wasn't the most appealing 13 minutes of a film I can recall. Regardless of my stance on the saga, it's obviously one-f**king-hell of a film series, being so evidently huge and all (and with its own cult to follow). So I was just wondering, really, if any of you bumholes were in to that stuff? Have you seen them all because you liked them, or because you wanted to see what the fuss was about, but then ended up liking them anyway? Also, can anyone just give a really quick debriefing of the series? How many are there? Why are some of them like olden day films (with Harrison Ford) and what's their difference to the new ones that are being released? Are they just remakes of the old ones? In which case, people know what'll happen in this new one anyway...? Is Luke Skywalker a goody or baddy? ^_^ I'm probably going to watch this one nonetheless, just 'cos the advert looks pretty cool, with that Darth Vader bit and, er, stuff. Anyone else going to be doing the same?
rocktrials
the older ones and half way through the series, ie episode 4/5/6, and the newer ones are episodes 1/2/ and the new one 3. im into it, very interesting, i would actually join the religion of jedi if it came available.sounds sad but would be great fun. echobikes
Started in the 70's i think.... George Lucas had all 6 films planned out but didn't want to make 1 - 3 as he didn't think he had the budget / technology to do what he wanted. So he made 4 - 6 first. In recent years he found he suddenly had the money / technology and made the first three. In a nutshell ^_^ I guess star wars has always been the kind of film that's always been around. I watched it because I'd heard about it from dad and I was young, and I liked it. The main hype was that most people had seen the last three, then suddenly Lucas was bringing out the first three, to fill in the whole plot. And now with the last one coming out everyone's excited because it fills the gap that comes between 2 and 4 :P Hope this helps...

Si-man
The original films are the best ones. They just spoiled the series with the 3 new ones. I won't be going to see the new one in a hurry anyway
Hobnobs
I thought the older ones were a bit poopy, i like all the new funky effects n stuff. Pod racing is actually wicked. ^_^
Stephen Morris
I saw about 30 seconds of one of the old ones and wanted to kill myself. I was clever enough to turn off the vcr instead so I'm here to tell the tale. Anyway, they're really not my sort of thing. I have no problem with science fiction as a genre, but Star Wars looks plain crap, along with Star Trek for that matter.
Endohopper
By filming episodes 4 , 5 and 6 first , Lucas kinda wrote himself into a corner and some nifty screenplay writing was required to sort out certain issues before making 1 and 2 . The first three really are well made films , especially given when they were released , some cinematic icons were created . Unfortunately , despite excellent CGI work and flashy production , parts 1 and 2 were almost killed ( for me , at least ) by Jar Jar Binks ( annoying incidental character , used for comic effect . ) May the force ... oh , I can't bring myself to end on such a cliche . Jedi Trials Pilot . ^_^"
Tomm
4/5/6 = Sweet old films. 1 = a bit crap. I never watched 2. Luke Skywalker is good - Always has been Anakin (His father) is bad - He is Darth Vader. I think.

Luke Skywalker is good - Always has been Anakin (His father) is bad - He is Darth Vader. I think. ← Anakin is the child in the first 2 films, he becomes Darth Vader... I havent seen the 2nd one since I watched it twice at the cinema when it was out but I remember figuring out that in Episode 3 Anakin will have to turn to the dark side and become Darth Vader which will lead into Episode 4... I forget whether or not Luke has been born already or not at the end of Episode 2? I expect I will be going along to the cinema to see Episode 3. When episode 2 came out nearly all of my college class skived off to go and see the first showing on the Friday morning :P The funnyest thing was someone blatantly phoned to order all of our tickets the day before while in a lesson with the Head of our course ^_^
delusional
I'm actually vaguely looking forward to Episode 3. Episode 4,5 and 6 were rather good, although I really have to be in the right mood to watch them. Episode 1 was dire, awful trash. Episode 2 I thought was awful for the first half, but quite good for the second. One can only hope that this means episode 3 will be quite good all the way through. I'm certainly curious to see how they manage Episode 3. There aren't many films where every man and his dog have known the major plot line for decades before the film even began shooting. Then we just have to wait a few more decades until they get around to making episodes 7,8 and 9!
cant_ride
Never watched them never will huh ? why ? I'm not a major fanatic but I love the films.... yeh the originals ( 4,5 & 6 ) were better but the new ones fit in perfectly with what cinema audiences today really want to see ( unfortunately ) still ok though. Star Trek is crap i agree but star wars is legendary. I'm seeing episode 3 tomorrow night .. cant wait! oli
Trebor
Unfortunatly my Dad was (and still is) a Star Wars uber-geek so I've kinda grown up with it. Was quite cool though, went to the Premiers of two of the Special Editions, were good evenings, except for my dad going as Boba Fett (slaps head). Episodes 1, 2 and probably 3 suck compared with the old skool Star Wars, newer ones just cater for current tastes of fast speed, big CGI and pretty ladies. Though I have always kinda looked forward to Episode 3 as you get to see Anakin being a bad ass ^_^
JT!
The director is a god for putting them in the wrong order basicly, i'm only into the movies and nothing else, i just love the way the 3 have been made, and then gone back, and you can watch how it all came together. (Y) BTW Luke and Leea (what ever her name is) will be born / consicved or whatever in episode 3 (as they are bro and sis). Anakin is the child in the first 2 films, he becomes Darth Vader... Anakin was a child in the first one, and he was late teen in the second one. Edited May 19, 2005 by JT!

In a census, if more than 500 people write the same thing down as a religion it becomes an official religion. And more than 500 people wrote Jedi as a religion, so yes, you can officially be part of the Jedi religion now. What an age we live in
zoojames
Im preety sure Luke a Leeia were concieved in the last film when they were playing around in the field of flowers :( Episode 1 was a bit of a family film, getting little kids into ligthsabers and stuff Episode 2 was a bit better, I enjoyed the whole clone wars thing with the big fook of battles. Episode 3 is supposed to be darker and more like the originals mood, so should be good! James :(
JT!
What makes me laugh is when you watch the 'Darth Vader vs Obi-wan' fight where obi-wan gets killed, and then compare it too the yoda fight in episode two. They are so different. :(
