Hi all,

I am interesting in buying an RB Brake lever for my magura rear brake, but i was looking at a picture of one today and I thought it looked a bit weak, are they weak? Also are they worth £60 ? Or should i stick with the normal lever that i have got? Thanks alot for reading

Well when i was done in london and Tarty was there he had an Rb lever on his rear maggy. I think he said he had, had the lever 3 years or some thing and hadnt changed the seals or anything and it had never leaked. Correct me if im wrong Tarty.

I think they are lovely levers and work very well but thats my opinion.

thanks

its not worth buying a brand new one for £60 mate!

if i were you i'd just ask around on the forum for people that are selling just the lever blade on its own, as i had a lot of trouble with my carbon rb body, and ended up having quite a nasty accident due to a faulty rb spring in the lever body! so id just file down a standard magura body so that the rb lever blade could fit.

haven't had any problems so far, had it for about 5months now, works a treat!

i don't think that they are weak in any way, i've hardly ever heard about people snapping their rb!

thats what i would do mate, but its your decision, and if you have £60 to buy a brand new one, then go for it :S

cheers jack :D

not sure if this has been mentioned anyway, Adam (Punkrider) has an RB Lever Blade in his magura body, looks good and i don't think it even leaks, works aswell as it being in the rb lever body. You could go for that.

I have a whole Rb lever and an rb lever body, i'm just going too try out the wholoe rb lever first and see how much it leaks....entirerly up too you mate

:(

EDIT: and NO they are defoantly not worth £60!!! :(

I have one, only been using it for a while. I bled it with water, after changing the seals to heatsinks (got it 2nd hand), and cleaning out the cylinder etc. Doesnt seem to be leaking (touch wood), and its very powerful :( . It was quite spongey but ive now got an echo team booster so there shouldnt be so much frame flex. Comfortable too :(

Got one on the back of my zoo boa with a water bleed and echo control booster

Good points:-

super comfy, great feel (same as the hope mini on the front) and oodles of power, never leaked and ive only cleaned it out once in the last 10 months

bad points:-

more sponge from frame flex, but to be honest i prefer the feel of an rb to a normal maggie with a stiff frame (eg a pitbull without a booster)

need a straighter rim cos you cant get so much pad travel with them

thats it

get one second hand, clean and lightly grease the seals if youre using water fit a decent booster and youre laughing

should the seals go then just take them to a seal stockist and ask them for a new couple of o-rings the same size & shape (or go to heatsink:))

my 2$

Save your £60 for other things that you need, in my opinion theyre not worth the cash. Far too flexy for my liking, even with quality boosters, true rims and evenly worn blocks. 60 squid is a lot of money, i wouldn't blow it on something like that myself :P

Put it towards i loverly new frame, or go crazy in some brothel in Soho :D

ok well i used to have a rbbody and lever.. for about 6 months it was emmense best brake i ever had but then bout a month ago it leaked :P but it was second hand and inside was scored n stuff so i can accept that i changed to a magura boddy with the rb bleade in it and there was a noticable amount of power loss. ive missed the great power i used to have so i ordered another one :D second hand. and wel see. i do love them :D
