Tartridge
Right, can anyone help please? I boot up my PC, internet works. 2 mins later, it all stops. Not a peep. Done virus scan and ad aware thing, nothing there. Thanks in advance!
Dr. Nick Riviera
you need to be more specific eg connection speed connection type isp etc
quick_spider
I came across this on a clients PC about a month ago. The connection was fine for the first few seconds after the pc was turned on/connection repaired. Tried all these things: Adware Viruses Winsock Network Drivers Network Protocols Different Browsers In the end we just had to reinstall... Might be worth running the latest versions of the following: Spybot Adaware SE CWShredder Trend Systemclean Jon
Matt_Tupman
I had this a while ago :S umm I think it was called Bug Blaster or net Blaster I think I just got a patch of the Norton website :P Good luck

Tartridge
NTL Broadband 750k. 'Done virus scan and ad aware thing, nothing there.' 'Winsock Network Drivers Network Protocols Different Browsers' Done browsers. Its the actual connection - MSN does the same. Have re-set router/modem, doesn't help. Got latest update from Norton website :S
nb88
Has it only just started happening? i'm on ntl too... are you using a wireless router? Noz.
Tartridge
Yeah, yesterday morning. Proper router - not wireless. Seems to be working now :S Had over 11 minutes without death. Did the same yesterday... could it be something to do with it needing to settle down or something? (Sounds highly random, but thats what it seems to be doing). Im confused. Tartridge
It appears I had/have a virus that calls itself 'system.exe'. Norton doesnt seem to want to sort it out... but if I open task manager and shut it down manually, my internet connection works again. I'll try and find a link to a patch/fix, and then post it up in case anyone else has the same problem :S

Got latest update from Norton website  ← I think it is because NTL are having allot of problems at the moment because they are trying to get every body that is on 750K ( like you adam ) up to 2MG :S before the end off May. They did have a problem the other week as they sacked somebody so he/she thought it would be a good idea to cut the cables for broadband therefore bringing the whole of Nottingham offline. I no this because my cousin had a man from NTL to fix his telly so they was talking about it then. Gaz :P
