Right i'm bored of my VP pedals. So now I wont something different.

Here

I might be getting some money coming in soon so I wont some new pedals, what are peoples views on these?

Please don't say get DMR v8s! I've had them for a while and i dent like them, always wobble etc..To much hassle.

So back to the Onzas,

Do the pins last?

How grippy are they?

Bearings?

Axle?

Durability?

Thanks in advance,

Scotty

They are only good if your a full on UCI rider. If you start bashing them on rocks and stuff they wont last very long. But otherwise excelent pedals. Super light. (Y)"

* may not be true. More like half the price. Still, not a bad saving (Y)

I wouldn't recommend them if you tend to bash your pedals into everything.

However, if you ride your bike on its wheels, theyre awesome pedals. Light, grippy, very good bearings.

Hi, My mate has used these for about a month, and after one comp 3 pins had been ripped out, so yeh not that strong. however they are really light and grippy so if you don't use your pedals on rocks or walls then they should be ok, Not that expensive either :S

Thay are good pedals, big surface area, light and grippy. As for ripping pins out, I heard James porter took the pins out of one side and only used the side that still had the pins in, quite clever. That way the side without pins gets mashed up whilst the side with pins stays pristine :S

but you have to check which side your putting your feet on the pedals each time.. and i've you slip slightly and land on the other side your pretty screwed.. and its not gonna be pretty (N)"

Let's be fair, they are the lightest (?) pedals about, and probably amongst the grippiest, and they aren't too expensive.

A couple of downsides though: I don't exactly try and hit my pedals (I never intentionally bashguard anything), but it clearly happens a lot, by accident. I've lost loads of pins on my pedals (you don't have to hit them very hard) and it's annoying! The other thing is, they're too sharp. I took a huge chunk out of my leg the other day, and that was through trousers! I'm scared of riding in shorts now!

For those two reasons, I'd probably just get V8s/VPs next time (N)

Oh, and taking the pins on one side out is bloody annoying to ride with!

How about, get the hogs, take the pins out of one side, then weight them so that the pinless side will end up facing backwards if you take your foot off, and learn to put your feet on the pedals while moving them backwards. Some of the local beehemexers did it cos they hated killing pedals while grinding. (N)

Yeah, I was thinking about that. But adding weight to a trials bike is a silly idea. However, maybe it would be possible to manufacture some pedals which had an ecentric axle, so they fell to that position automatically. Would be ideal, really. No idea how feasible it is though. Any manufacturers listening, steal my idea and make it :)
