hugh_b
I have the koxx blue (medium) brake pads. Stuck em in the bike, set them up properely and i've given them about a 1/2 hour ride in my back garden.Tthey dont seem very grabby just a swosh noise.I have a medium grind. Does anyone know if they will go grabby with time or is this as good as they get? -Hugh
Prawny Baby
i cant say about the blue pads, but ive got a set of the greens and im very impressed so far unlike all the other pads lately ive used them for 3 rides now and no measurable wear so far (around 0.1mm) ive been measuring them on my digital callipers after each ride.... theyre not massively loud, but incredibly powerful. the noise could be due to flex issues.... as ive not had a loud brake for months and months, pretty much sinse i got an xtr brake booster.... id also suggest giving the rim a fresh grind with new pads, that way it can all settle down together.... if youve been using hard pads before, the depth of the grind may still be there, but the sharpness is likely to be gone
Damon W
yep, koxx bloxx take AGES to bed in and at first mine did what youres are now doing, they swooshed then they just came alive. :S and now with a VERY VERY small amount of tar for added bite they are absolutely amazing, they are also great news if you like a really stiff back brake as the material is very hard (so they last ages) (Y)

Danny
I had heatsink batch b's and they were pretty good then i got some c's and ran them on the same grind (grind looked fine) and they didnt do much but after a fresh grind they squeel like a little piggy and grip :S. My advice is if its a grind thats had other pads on even if it looks ok give it a fresh grind.
Waynio
medium grind suprises me? (Y) its either got a grind or not, if the grind is worn off then nowt will work. if you use a different disc you will either get a good or a useless grind simple as. give them time like DW@hulltrials said. Waynio........................... either give it a bashful grind!so dont be shy with the grinder and then they'll work! You can always buy a new rim but you cant buy a new life!so hit that god damn rim hard with that grinder :- :S it'll keep you smiling all day and you'll wanna gruind it the same again! dont forget METAL CUTTING! and put it over like a bin or something, and let it vibrate around it adds to the fun of the wheel jumping around :(

zoojames
and put it over like a bin or something, and let it vibrate around it adds to the fun of the wheel jumping around :) ← WTF Waynio your mental mate! Just wack a deepish grind in and koxx bloxx will be happy for months :) Just keep topping up the grind like fortnightly, you gain confidence with your brake too!
