The config thing does wonders, browsing is a lot faster (Y) cheers

I can't say I've noticed the difference. There's also something about adding -prefetch to the firefox shortcut to make it load faster. But again, I never noticed any difference. The one thing I wonder is with 30 "threads" being loaded at the same time for every time you look at the page, are you using 30x the bandwidth? If the speak tweaks are so amazing, why aren't they already part of the browser?

And .Jar is a Java extension isn't it? Have you got the latest JRE?

After reading this post yesterday, I thought i might aswell try Fire fox and after 5 mins of useage I got round the basics. It's like IE but better as recently I had a problem with IE my pages would stall and takes a while to load up the page while on firefox this problem hasn't occur yet. Plus my mate show us th weather feature which is quite good about 90% correct on the weather and also the the foxtune player is it?

just downloaded mozilla (Y)  and i think it's mint. but... one thing that really annoying me is that the themes don't work. it comes up with an error and something about jar files not working  :S  please help.

Did you download Mozilla browser or Firefox? I don't have a problem with themes at all. The jar files not working is because you need to install the latest JRE for your browser. Link :D

right,

day two of having mozilla and...it's not as good as i thought it would be. it definately isnt faster, and thats with me doing that thing up there ^^^ that nozmeister(sp) posted. :S images take agessss compared to IE to load images and some don't even load at all :) , and downloading vids etc. is just a pain in the arse. and the themes won't work and i prefer media player to foxxytunes anyday as i can just whack a playlist on unlike foxytunes.

danny :S

p.s. i am posting this using IE

Firefox will only render your pages, if your on a decent connection already your not going to see anything noticeable on forums etc.

Something is wrong there :) That just shouldn't happen, i've never heard of that either...

You on an older version of java?

Yeah I don't like foxytunes, but I sure as hell don't like media player :S Takes ages to load up on my computer for some reason.

Been using it for about an hour.

Crashed once already :S

The method of making images full size that are too large for a window is good (Y) (With IE you have to wait for the blue/orange box in the bottom right to appear... now THATS annoying)

Pages load faster (marginal but noticeable) :(

Tabbed browsing is good :-

Also a few other things that are done differently... can only find minor annoying points at the moment. Hopefully get used to it.

Not tried downloading things yet.

Seems ok so far :D

Another convert (N)

Downloads are another thing that is nicer in Firefox. Dunno why it crashed though. Never does for me. Actually, that's a lie, it crashed the other day in Fedora. But never in windows :)

Prefer Firefox to internet explorer, but when ever i use firefox. It always crashes, it will be fine for a while but then all of a sudden it has a fatal error and shuts down. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this I want to use firefox again.

Oh, i forgot to mention, one THE BEST plugins in the weather one.

It's so convenient, I never used to check the weater, now it's just always there in the bottom corner. It's really acurate too. It actually changes when it's raining / sunny etc in real time, and the days ahead forcast is usually spot on  :P

Haha, it was pissing it down outside about 5 minutes ago, then just now up popped a 'sun behind cloud' symbol.. thinking it was lying, I just checked outside and the suns come out! Pretty accurate :D

Nobody told me about this shortcut - open in new tab = middle click (click the scroll wheel on the link) - beast!  :P

i cant remember how I done it, but I've set mine to open links in a new tab anyway.
