RyanRs
on the x-over hose that connects the 2 magura calipers together, there are the 2 metal parts (either end) that allow the hose to screw into the calipers... the hose is not connected to these using an olive etc, instead the part is Pushed into the hose... hopefully you all know what bits i am on about.... Now, those little metal bits on either end of the x-over hose, i need to connect one of them to a magura hose... What is the best method of getting it on there? i have tryed heating it and pushing it on,but the hose expands to much and leaks! please don't say 'go buy a new one', as i am not using the x-over hose for the usual purpose. philking
Right! Get the hose, and with the use of the two bits of plastic that come with bleed kits clamp it in a vice (if you do not have the plastic bits, drill a 5mm hole longways in a piece of wood that is about an inch wide and high and two inches long, Then cut the wood in half so the hole makes 2 u shaped grooves down each bit.) so that about 1.5 cm of hose is sticking out of the top. Get the "metal bit" and tap it with a hammer untill the barbed end totally dissapears into the hose, and hey presto! You've done it. Heating is not a good way, do not do it! Tomm
Apparently you can also use a couple of magura brake pads lengthways in a vice to hold the hose. Some people still use heat but I think you're using too much. Use less heat.
Tartridge
I had a funny feeling the Magura website might have the answers! http://www.magura.com/english/download/05/felgen_05_e.pdf
