the venue was awesome!!!!! but once again the scores were hiked up a fiar bit by the weather....

the course was set out in anticipation of an awesome summers day!!!!

yet it was tipping it down when we arrived!!!!

so....

as you can imagine, things were pretty savage while it was wet, but after lunch (yes-we're lazy) the wind dried things up the 2nd lap scores were generally less than half the 1st lap scores....

i hear inter was a pretty good battle for 2nd/3rd place between bigman and tom whiteley, red route had LOADS of riders this time with a total of 10 riders this time around!!!!

final scores havnt all been worked out yet.... so were going to hav to wait and see who won  :) :D

awesome comp though!

Yeah was a good day in all but when we left barny this morning it was sunny as you like! When we got there it was a mud bath and doppy here didnt bring a jacket or anythin. I must say I was disapointed with myself a bit at the start but as it dried up and we got on the second lap it was looking up!

Heres a few pics from the mess around afterwards:

Jack with a kiss the cow shit drop B)

Bigman with a "Im gonna up so hard im gonna shit myself"

I would have more pics to put up but that stupid image gallery does my head in. In photoshop im doing everything, changing the quality, res and size and it stil says your image is too big  :)

Will try again tomorrow!

Cheers Rob :D

I have to say it was an AWSOME day, sections were perfect, even if i rode abit on the wank side of things, a few stupid fives etc, like every one

Shame i didn't make that up to back wheel in the pic, hooked it, but couldn't keep it to back wheel, the kicker just wasn't happening for me, to streety :D"

Tic was storming through the sections, i am sure he came out with under 30 by the end, he was riding very well, especialy seeing that his new tyres didn't turn up in time for the comps :cough:dave:cough: B)

Overal, a very enjoyable day, especialy with the little ticcy to go around with :)

I had an absolutely brilliant day. I rode absolutely abominably, and I think 3'ed the majority of my sections (with 1 clean all day... riding whites...) but it was excellent fun. Next time I intend to get more than 3 hours sleep the night before so I might not make quite so many stupid mistakes :)

My only problem with the day is that I'm going to have to wait nearly 2 months until the next one!

Great comp, I was probably the only person there who didn't take part at all, though I'de never even been to a comp before. Definatly will take part in the next one though :P (begginers that is :P )

Enjoyed it even though i was only watching and the venue was great, can't wait till the next one.

.....better get practicing those trackstands (Y)

I dropped 24 in intermediate 20" which I am fairly happy with. I managed to get no 5's which is nice (Well I lie, I got one 5 but I used my 'Joker Card' to re-ride it and get a 2).

Was fun to go round with you Bigman, we helped eachother loads when walking the sections and planning (Y)

I liked the idea of going round in groups with an observer per group, however this method proved to be slow due to the sheer number of riders and also a couple of the sections were misunderstood by some groups and ridden slightly wrong.

The sections were planned well, the people were great and the weather held off for us (Cheers DJ :P ) So over all it was an amazing day!!!

Cant wait till the next one!!!

I had an awsome day, despite the rain! It just made it more of, well, a trial really. in the true sense of the word!

Really looking forward to seeing the scores! I have no idea how i did or anyone else did! the red routes were awsome and they would have been tuff in the dry! but in the wet and mud they were a bitch!

on the down side it would have been much better to have an observer on each course so you could ride at your own pace and not have to wait for your group to move on! i found i got cold and achey between stages! but i suppose it just depends on how many people there was to observe! still a great day though!

p.s. Rich, i hope your bum is ok.

i would of come to this competition but i was so f**ked from the yorkshire tykes comp the day before.. maybe next time (Y)

Steadman managed to do both fine :-

He arrived at Prawns house near Plymouth at 2am on the Monday morning after driving from the Yorkshire comp via Worcester ;)

I managed to ride the Hampshire comp aswell as the Devon comp. My mental weekend of riding worked out to be about 400 miles travelling, riding 48 sections, messing round before and after the comps aswell as riding street in Taunton for a while on Sunday night.

Anyone who can get to the Devon comps should deffinately make the effort, I was well impressed considering the club has only organised limited competitions

im still not recovered from doing both the tyketrial, and the wemcc in succession! looking back, it was a bit silly, but it was definately well worth it! I was impressed with the sections, they all seemed rideable, its just a shame i was so damn tired. Im not sure about the way it was run, going round with an observer, it seemed a pretty slow way of doing things with a decent turnout. maybe it could be run a bit more normally next time.

i managed 800 miles in around 36 hours over the two days, well worth it though. two good trials at two very good venues.

:P  :-

You have no idea... :P It's still not entirely easy to walk properly (as if I had enough to worry about with my ankles...).

Managed all this, plus training at ham hill on saturday (sunburn which still hasn't gone away...), a pass plus test, and getting riotously drunk with Bryan (dad). This weekend officially killed me.

The comp was pretty damn good I thought, with our group having some amazing comical and vicious stacks (Steve almost faceplanting a cowpat, me jacking my back up on a rock, Dan actually wedging his foot into a gap in two rocks, Nick messing up a very, very stupid gap, and Rob's "I'm in trouble," is still hilarious [just imagine it with a Hans Rey accent and Rob literally wrapping himself over a low tree branch :o .])

All in all I really enjoyed it, even when it was pissing it down, but when the sun came out it was fantastic. I really liked the observers going round with us in small groups because we all learnt to help each other and work almost like a team. Oh and I met actiondan as well, a truly savage guy, although the most ready memory of him was his face appearing and saying "Breathe man, just breathe," about two seconds after I was convinced I'd just paralysed myself; One second I'm going for a gap, then next I'm staring at the sky and it feels like someones set my spinal cord on fire...

See you all next time. B)
