nb88
Hey all, i know this has been posted before, but i cant actually find the post.. Basically i have a picture with a white background and i want it to be black (very very simple). I've actually seen a thread with info on how to do this (with the dropper tool), but i cant find it (Y) . Could anyone direct me to this post, or tell me how to do it? And then mods can delete this thread. Cheers. Noz.
Tomm
select the background colour with the dropper. Or, if it's just plain 100% white, press d for default colours (black/white) and then x to change it round (white/black). Then click the wand tool. Over your picture, right click, select colour range and then move the slider until it selects all the background (+ none of the foreground). Now do Ctrl-U and adjust the sliders until it's black. Is that about what you were after?
Sameer
There's probably a better way of doing it but for simple colour replacements go to Image > Adjustments > Replace Colour A small box will pop up. First thing to do is click the colour on the picture you want changing, in your case the white background. Then look at the bottom half of the box that popped up before, you'll notice 3 variables to adjust. Basically just mess around with them till you get the desired colour. To change it to black, you could drop the lightness one down to the end. But, like I said, there must be a better way of doing it because my method will also slightly alter the other colours, since there are elements of the original colour in them (or something like that...). Anyway, hope that does the trick. edit: well Tomm's sounds better, so try that instead. Edited May 2, 2005 by Sameer
