Frenchman
Slightly miffed at the moment. Just popped a new front tyre on my bike and went for a little play in the street. Nothing serious just checking if everything was in order. Went to hop to a curb and my bike flew from under me leaving me on my backside slightly dazed with my bars in my hands my bike 6ft away  Turns out my steerer tube snapped just below the stem whilst snapping my hope hose and ripping out my maggy hose. As usual it couldn't have been worse timing as round one of the south west comp is on monday!! So its a set of stupidly heavy t-pro forks, an old maggy on single wall koxx rim!! Not good... Si-man
My mate (cultiv8ed matt)'s steerer tube went there trying to do a rolling gap in morecambe to a rock. Seems like echos like to go there for some reason.
Frenchman
Reminds me of mine..... ← Ohh nice  I still dont know why they went there.. Am thinking it was because i ran 2 stem stackers.
ScotchDave
Do they have butting that ends there?
Mark W
Every pair of forks I've snapped has gone there, it's a bit arse, really...
Hobnobs
I was running four stackers. Im worried for my new pair....
Mark W
If it makes you feel any better, mine snapped when I had none, one, and two spacers. This isn't on Echo Teams by the way...
Will Arnold
thats why i run a headlock  so when they do snap you dont rip your hoses out ;) Will
Endohopper
You've got me worried now . What's the relationship between running spacers and fork snappage ? Kinda worried because I run 4 spacers , and as my user name suggests , I'm rather fond of endo - hopping . I'm hoping that using a Headlock might at least save my cabling , as suggested above in case of catastrophic fork failure .
DangerousDave
snapping echo team forks eh...doesn't inspire confidence while riding my echo team with echo team forks lol

Tartridge
http://eengoedidee.nl/videoz/download.cgi?...4dTM228AAHFjP9c Wonder when mine will go... ← Not seen it, but try dropping a bit of lube down between the steerer and crown (have to take the headset crown race off first)
Janson
I have. The lubage worked for about 3 hours. I'm gonna try a few different ones though, as I'm pretty sure forks sounding like that won't pass inspection at comps!
Luke Drewery
That would piss me off mightily. What a strange place to break, there is a serious manufacturing or design defect if they always break there. You are kind of lucky though because if they didnt snap then they could have snapped during a section at the comp :S
RicH_87
Went to hop to a curb and my bike flew from under me leaving me on my backside slightly dazed with my bars in my hands my bike 6ft away :S ← LOL!^ unlucky mate, good luck with the bodged effort at the comp.
