Bmx Choice Time Again!

Heres what I wrote it the FAQ bit:

Right, I've been thinking on getting a BMX setup for a while now... and now my bike has gone long, low and silver (shamefull) although it has improved my trials its not all I want from my riding, I still need the fun of a good manual, nice spin or to try something new (like grinding on a BMX). So like many of you it looks like I'll be turning to the darkside that is.. BMX.

I'd be riding street and park style stuff, no flatland no vert. I've looked through the thread a bit but would like to know a few things from your points of view on whats best/needed.

Things I'd need are a nice brake setup (F+R if possible) Im 6ft1 and alot of BMX's I've been on felt short, I found them really hard to bunnyhop without hitting my knees on the bars etc and usually catch my heels on the pegs (is this normal?) So a reccomended frame lenght too.

In trials I love having a profile but at a guess I doubt its an essential first buy on a BMX?

So basically whats the current top street/park build for £300-£500 to suit my needs?

Let us know a few options if possible and where to get them for the best price and service?

Cheers then, Olly

After having a look around and trying to find threads on TF I think I've narrowed my choices down to these maybe?

Diamondback Fubar - Seem to remember Bongo saying he'd pick that part's wise.

WeThePeople 4 Seasons - Looks mint (Y)

WeThePeople Thrillseeker - Looks the same as 4 Seaons but with F+R Brakes?

So whats your 2 cents guys?

Cheers Olly

I have a wtp primat, its pretty cool.

If your looking for full bikes I have heard hofman bikes are getting pretty good.

If mongoose still do the RAF take a look at that, its was crazy good value.

RAF

Seems bloody good, cromo frame, forks and bars, 3 piece cranks, oddyssy cassette hub! chrome rims, front and rear brakes.......I might get one!

The spec looks rather good, but apart from the cassette hub its not overly better.

The frame and general set-up looks awful from my point of view, I just cant stand the frame that look like that at the seatube/seat stayt bit (Y)

The wtp's both look tasty, and as Bongo said check the Fubar's spec, thats got some mint parts on through and through.

Im just not sure what kind of standard those bikes are at, is it the eqivalent of say a T-Pro, or more top end?

Cheers for the input people keep it coming im about as confused as pilot flying through the bermuda triangle (Y)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not an Odyssey cassette wheel, it's just the Odyssey 13 tooth freewheel.

WeThePeople 4 Seasons - Looks mint

WeThePeople Thrillseeker - Looks the same as 4 Seaons but with F+R Brakes?

Can anyone tell me the differences between these two bikes please?

I really like the look of them both but havent a clue which ones better and why, or how they are different?

Cheers Olly

P.S. Bongo where are you?

The thrill seeker weighs more, has 14mm axles front and rear, has crome rims all round,it has 48spoke rims front rear. Fatter seat, the thrill seeker also has giro

and the thrillseeker costs £40 more

p.s. Bongo's not the only bmx rider on here you know "

i have a thrillseeker. its a real nice bike and rides well. the advantages of the thrillseeker over the 4 seasons are.a stronger frame, chrome plated rims front and rear, front brake for tech stuff, and 14mm axles front and rear if you want to do double pegs or smiths without breaking yo axle.

its a whole lot nice than the 4 seasons ;)

Cheers for the pics, but it doesn't scream out to be mine ;) Peoples BMX's seem so induvidual to trials bikes, maybe its just me.

Im leaning towards just going for the WTP Thrillseeker in black now, seems to suit all of my needs and looks decent all round

As for the clours well cheap anodising means everything not black already will be black if it can be anosided.

I'll hopefully order the WTP Thrillseeker in black on sunday, got a few days off next week then a holiday the week after so it should all be mint ;)
