Sam Nichols
Heya... The topic title may be a bit confusing but basically this is how it goes... I ride a 26 inch normally. I am 6ft 1. I'm thinking about getting a 24inch (leeson fluid around 1030 wb) but I'm hoping for some advice (Y) Basically can you let me know how you found the switch from 26 to 24. I'm interested to know if you can gap same, further or worse - same with backwheeling. And the more obvious one... how much has your style improved? I really like the idea of 24... I'm just worried about not liking it! Edited April 28, 2005 by nichols_sam
Brian Bleech
all my riding has got better since the move to 24" but maybe i have got better in general (Y) (Y) all my mates say i look wierd on a 26" now :( !! i would worry about your height really because botth leeson and curtis can make longer 24" I am about 6 foot (just under i think) and 24" fits me fine. Its less to do with the wheel size and more to do with the cockpit length! I mean we all know that longer bikes are better for bigger gaps and more trialsy moves! 24" are short and streety and flicky and fun :o but put TRA on a 24" with the same cockpit length as one of his longer bike and he will be able to gap just as far! hope that makes some sense mike
sharn
Hey, Im 6ft 4 (Y) So im even taller than you. Im lanky as f**k and i ride a 24" Leeson. The wheelbase is 1040 on mine ( 1cm longer front end than the Ashton ) I personally find the size perfect. I run a 100cm stem and theres plenty enough room to shift my wait around in and direction. I also find, with longer bikes there is so much room that it seems uncontrolable... This is why it has impproved every aspect of my riding after moving from the Echo Pure ( although i had an Ashton 24" before that) The change over was great, imediatly it felt good generally. But did feel strange to gap etc becos the bike was so rigid and twitchy, it was hard to get used to it again. But once youre used to shifting your wieght around on a 24" i think youll find it improves your riding becos you have total control over every movement of the bike, even in mid air. Iv had quite a few different frames, and different styles of bikes, and i can safely say this is the only bike that feels comfortable for eveything. It just feels right. I highly recommend a Leeson 609 (Y) Laters, Sharn :S Edited April 28, 2005 by sharn
rich4130
Don't be fooled into thinking that 24" are that short, I cant see them being much shorter than the Leeson/Norco that you had hehe, I'm a titch, I actually found mine quite long after some saracen I had before haha. Do what sharn done if your concerned (Y)

John Shrewsbury
Hi john shrewsbury here. Im 6th 1, and pretty tall. for e.g sharn, edd tongue, me hav gotten better at riding on 24inch, and i think going from 26inch to 24inch is such a great way to get better at your street riding and making new tricks up. Belive me if your tall or really small, and i think i say this for every other 24inch rider. YOU WILL NEVER GET BORED RIDING 24INCH. Ive ridden 24inch ever since the beginning of last year and i think ive gotten alot better. If you go for it get a leeson 24inch, you can have any colour and any lengh you want on it. I got 1030 on mine and Tim pratt has one now in red colour around i think 1020. Go for it (Y) john
Sam Nichols
Cheers for the replies guys. I was always gonna get a Leeson and it was actually Clive who suggested I think about 24inch. So I've no worries about the quality or paint jobs or anything like that. From the sounds of it though 24 would be a great way to go... So I reckon thats pretty much made up my mind ;) Many thanks guys
