Lol. Ali and Aust, you said it was cheating, but also said its harder to do it bunnyhop on stock. Surely that means its more skillfull to bunnyhop :S". Phil got it spot on, they're both usefull in different situations so why not learn both . I prefer bunnyhopping if I can mainly because my hub slipped trying a pedal hook once and it hurt...

and you have got pumpkin arms...

a competition bike is harder to bunnyhop than a sreety bike (well, mine is).

I dont have the confidence the commit to bunnyhoping at a big old wall, the fear of my front not comming up enough is too much. When I pedal at it, there's no worry.

I would like to be able to bunnyhop up hooks, but I aint gonna do them on my long wheelbase low bar height bike.

i do that all the time :- it's always my left pedal (left is my strong foot) and sometimes i get the top of my shoe caught under the top of the wall as well! (Y)

That happens to me too, its very scary and puts me off a bit. Thats why you have to angle your bike when you hit the wall, to make space for your good foot...

Is the geometry on your new frame a lot different to the old one? Last time I rode with you your bike was more streety than mine :P (and you were a lot better at street than me!)

James, wtf is pumpkin arms supposed to mean (Y). I'm not the ginger one!

rightyho...

im glad to say i made the old vert wall today, totally vert, was chuffed to pieces and made it today in the rain (Y) was fantastic, hooks arent too hard, although getting used to riding faster is the only way, faster than u would for anything else i would say, and longer run-up than u imagine (this is for Street hooks, i know its harder and u dont have long run-ups in comps)

it took me about 30 attempts but made it up to both wheels, its just speed, compressing ur back tyre and springing up to front then bringing your back wheel onto the wall.

hold your front brake only, if u hit back wheel on wall with brake on u will have no momentum.

i learnt on a 51-52" wall, give it a shot, just commit boys

I'm possibly being retarded, but how did that end up going THAT arse over tit?!  Did he properly not get the front end high enough or something?

yeah. looks liek his front wheel wasnt properly over the top of the obstacle... normally happens when you take off to late..

I dunno why, but I really want to learn hooks, there a bit advanced for me but, I wanna try.

I was trying them on a 50" loading bay, with a pallet, and even at an angle, wasn't really getting anywhere, just seemed to bouce off?

is 7 pallets high enough to try?

I'm on 24" as well, which probably doesnt help much, but im sure it can be done...

any ideas, simple things, not mentioned here heh.

thats what i was practising on last time i was in barnstaple, we put a pallet upirhgt against a loading bay , with the bottom of the pallet set about 12'' out from the base of the bay

after a few minutes we were hooking that to back wheel no problem, but take the pallet away, and we just smash into the wall and go nowhere
