Ali C
I have just got some new shoes this morning (661 duallys, via post) They are awesome shoes, but a little still (the soal and general material). Is there anyway to soften it all up? Cheers

echobikes
Just got 'em? Why not let 'em break in over the next week... Or am I missing the point?
Ali C
no your not mising the point, this is the first decent pair of shoes I have got, normally I get cheap matalan jobbies which are really soft and flexible to start with (but dont last long) I didnt know shoes got more flexible as you wore them. TheMunn
Yep, they do get more flexy, just use them and you will realise the shoes have worn in.
rich4130
My dad always used to use babyoil in his work booty things to soften them up, not sure how it'd work on those though, might just be a leather thing.

andyroo
One should not be able to lose shoes being that one ties them to one's feet

CH!P
this is usually the point that you realise that they have worn out !! ← Errrr no. They do get more flexy after a week or so. My Globe's have been the nicest trainer's, although still abit stiff at new, they're the most comfortable 'from-new' trainer's I've had. crazy_gap girl
The oldest traniers are the best ever shose to ride in.. nothing can beat them.. even though there probly nearly falling to bits and hanging on by a thread, there still the most comfyest(sp) and best shoe to ride in  Just walk in them for about 10 miles :) through all the mud and god no's what eles.. im sure that will soften them up :)

Mark W
I usually find just bending the sole of the shoe up so the toe of the shoe touches the tongue works fine, really. It stresses the area of the shoe that the pedal actually sits on, and it really, really does work. Just bend it to that point a coupla times and you'll be sorted :) However, if by "Dually" you mean 661's SPD compatible shoe, then they'll basically always be stiff. If not though, they probably just need to be bent in, then ridden to finish 'em off...
James
fill up a zip up bag full of water and put it in the shoe, then put the whole lot in the freezer and it will freeze, expand and stretch the shoe! That sounds more fun than wearing or bending them :) would piss work instead of water? :)
