Hey, the wheelbase for the new echo contorls is given below bassed on geometry of echo forks,

Geometry (400mm fork blade with 45mm forward, 10mm bottom head set):

Wheel base: 1085mm (size Large) or 1065mm (size small)

does anyone know the geometry of the fatty R forks? and can anyone be bothered to work out the the new wheelbases with that fork.

It will be within a few mm as said above, but really, does it matter? It's only a figure!

Anybody remember the days of trials when it didnt matter what your bike was but what you could do on it? (Y) :)"

Yeah, but back in the day it was less expensive and people wernt nearly as good.

Im thinking of buying an echo control, and even though the wheelbase with those forks is 1065, wit other forks it can range from 1020 ( straight ) to over 1100, which i couldnt handle. I want to get this bike right ....

So if someone could tell me the rake, or forward, or angle on the fatty R forks I'd be happy. If ur gonna flame me, or call me petty, just dont respond

It'll make about this much difference [----] Even if the wheelbase of your bike got changed to 1100 the reach would still be the same ((Y))

I'm pretty sure that you'll find these extra few mm's added/removed from the wheelbase will make zero difference, I think that Fatty R's have a fork height of 390mm, so this (I'm not 100% on this) will bring the bottom bracket down by 5mm (or less). The bike will still ride like a beast - you've got nothing to worry about :)

As said in your other topic about the feel of a bike, it's the reach that counts . . . . .

You never get straight forks though. The only forks I know that will make a significant difference to the wheelbase are Pashley forks, which have a lot of rake on them, therefore they increase the wheelbase by about 20mm. Although as people have rightly said, the bike will feel very similar, because the reach is the important thing to worry about, and that is NOT affected by what forks you use.

About the same as the urban forks, give or take 5mm. Basically the wheelbase (on the 1065 control) will measure up as about 1065. Be aware though, that the control 1065 feels shorter than a levelboss 1065 (for example), because the high bottom bracket makes the reach shorter. I think the 1085 control feels a similar length to the 1065 koxx. It doesn't matter though - just get the damn frame - You'll get used to it whatever length it is.
