zoojames
Hey guys, Just been outside in the road with a pallette, whilest doing a gap (about an extra 3" onto my 1080 wb + wheels) and I found I wasn't making it due to a strong pain in my right arm. It feels like its straining my bone...it's strange and means I have no strength in my right arm at the moment...does anyone know what this is? James >_<
tipus
Yeah. I had a very painful shoulder while ago. But i was fine after a week or so. I just needed a little brake. I think shoulders and arms need a little brake now and then. In trials yo use your arms all the time, and the musculature cant handle the stress all the time. I think so >_< :turned:
Freddie
Have a break for a week, then try riding again. If it still hurts go to your doctor instead of trusting someone on trials forum. >_<
Joe Papasnap Maher
I had something like this a week or so back....went to stamford to ride and it was hurting like a f**ker...took some paracetamol...was all good, lol...but yer just have a rest for a week or so....if the pain continues on further...go see the doc. >_<
aaroncosbey
yeah - the most likey cause is a form of tennis elbow - Its just imflamation of the joint. Just rest for a few days, and when gapping try to adopt a technique that is'nt as agressive (smooth out the technique). >_<
Wayne-king
stop winging James :turned: just ride and it might go away. thats what i usually do >_<"

It's extremely painful. I believe Bursitis is the technical term
Endohopper
Reckon we'll ever see trials -related clinically recognised disorders ? Things like tennis elbow , but more like Magura-finger , Rider's shin syndrome , Chronic bunny hop back or Brake squeak induced hearing impairement ? Sorry to make light of your ailment , Zoojames . Everyone encounters pain / discomfort whilst riding at some point . Trials places unusual stresses on certain joints and muscles . I'm curious to see long term studies of trials' effects on the body , but given it's a relatively recent sport , I guess that makes us Guineapigs . We'll all be either super fit and flexible in our old age , or confined to wheelchairs . ( with Chris King hubs .) (Y)

James (Y) ← i think trials is a very strenuas sport and if you dont stretch before you ride, it is inevatable that you are going either, pull a muscle or damage it in someway. I often get it when I dont warm up before sports. When I pull a muscle, i have a hot bath it works very very well, and relaxes you alot. Tomm
Sure it's not just arm pump from gripping the bars/brake? If it's forearm, that's what it'll be, probably.
Ali C
arm pump isnt a pain, its just a feeling (numb hands). Could it be your riding position? If I read your first post right your on a new frame? This might put you in a different position to what your used to. Having a break wont resolve it as when you get riding again you will still be in a different position to what your used to. Possilby try setting your bike up a little different to see if that solves it, or just carry on riding to get used to the feel. (if your not on a new frame you should probably ignore all that (Y) ) actually, I re-read your post, I get what you mean now, silly me.
