Impacted.
Good morning, people! I currently have a hope mono trial with a 160mm rotor, and I would like a bit more power out of my front brake than what I have at the moment. So first I wanted to know if this and this would be compatible with my brake, and secondly if you guys think that a 185mm rotor will provide a significant amount more braking power, or should I go straight up and get the 205mm rotor? And also if the fact that having a bigger disk will be less harsh on my disk tabs? Thanks.
totaltrials
The latest hope brakes are 160, if you use a +20mm or +40mm adaptor you would need a 180 or 200 rotor not a 185 or 205, The adaptor should be fine, but you will need the correct size rotor, otherwise it will probably rub on the caliper. So get a 180 rotor, which are available. You will notice quite a lot more power. try: wiggle There is an aztec rotor and a hope mini 180 rotor on there. Phil. Impacted.
Will the aztec rotor work? Because I thought I heard something about hope brakes and wavy rotors not being compatible. And also, would 200mm be worth the money or a bit overkill?

If you can get a 200mm then I would say to get the 200mm. Phil.
colly
yes it should give it a lot more bite and wont get as hot on long downhills if you ever rode one on a trials bike
Wayne-king
have a word with Adam Read (Tartridge) im pretty sure he's running a 200mm+ rotor on his mono trial >_<
Michael Hardman
Im running a 205 m4 and yes the larger the rotor the mor epower. Take a downhill bike, the front brake is used for 75% of the braking and yes the front rotor is as big or bigger than the rear. There is an arguement ithing downhill that there is no need for 200+ discs on the rear of bikes.
