Ashley Smith
the hope mono series brakes are not designed to be used with wavey rotors regards ash
Punkrider
the hope mono series brakes are not designed to be used with wavey rotors regards ash ← Why is this, what difference would it make (mono/not mono)? Adam
Ashley Smith
Why is this, what difference would it make (mono/not mono)? Adam ← it is just how hope desgned them, trust me, i tested one of these brakes for them.............. the reson being is because on an mono m4 there is less 'height' in the pads and rotor, where the brake works whereas on the older satandard series of mini and m4 the area was larger, the old mini came with wavey wheras the new ones come with just a standard rotor, to be honest with you there is not really any mechanical differneces, only looks regards ash
dave33
they are avilable from hope at £22 they make a hell of a difference in braking power
Punkrider
So you are not suppose to run a wavy rotor with mono brake? Adam
Dai the Socket
Is there any difference in breaking, when you use a wavy rotor? I found it gave my 160mm Avid Cable Disk more modulation. Also it gave it more eventual power I think. Not sure how! They're pre-brushed too so they work a treat. I've got the Aztec one from Wiggle.co.uk Nick
CurtisRider
i belive that the idea behind the wavyness is to draw air through the caliper so that it keeps the whole system cooler? and also to shift mud when out on the trails? makes sense to me :-
