If it's a clear day, and there's decent lighting conditions, and you adjust the helmet so it sits as well on your head as a normal helmet would, you can just about see the dull reflection of the inside of the periscope bit/the shitty mirror. You're more likely to crash by looking up trying to work out what the f**k the huge blurry shape is in your "mirror" (loose term: shiny plastic in reality) than from being nailed from behind by some silent lorry that you couldn't hear or something...
