Mark W
Because Adam has helped Onza a lot with the development and ideas for their frames and products? Similar to how up until recently he was riding a prototype geometry'd T-Rex variant?
Lee_Buchanan
Is the bb higher on that frame than most mods ?
andyroo
it looks bob on. that chain tensioning design is kool too tarty. BUT what happens when you get a monkey taking the bolt out and wacking it back in cross threaded? and then they bring it back and say, i didnt do owt i was just riding along and all me threads stripped!!!!! as people are always curious in what things do they will be playing with them like theres no tomorrow!!!! Waynio..................... does look great and the tensioning deisgn is kool if used correctly. ← Maybe a replaceable thread like on the tensiles could solve that. I think the minimum threads on a frame the better, especially if the frame is soft aluminum. maybe the bolt through the dropout could be fixed, and a nut on the end pushes the wheel back, then the only thread that can be ruined is inside a replaceable nut. just an idea
Corish
You know what? If that had "normal" chain stays that would be a proper gorgeous frame! I dunno about the new idea though It could be stronger, but then again, could not be stronger, who knows? Is this frame actually going into production? (Sorry if its already been posted that it is etc, I don't sit and read 52 Posts for a living/hobby, or for anything really, I find it boring to read that much) corish EDIT: And how come they have changed to front marta and still not louise, both excellent brakes though, I prefer marta for the looks though :P So are they going to keep the "Martas" or is it just a one off? This maybe a question for Tarty. Edited April 20, 2005 by Corish

Mark W
Well, sort of. I just meant that if he'd suggested it they could've taken it into consideration...

Tartridge
How can the idea of the tensioners belong to Adam when after all it is bike company that have made the bike ← It doesn't - its just something I suggest to Mike a while back, as Mark said. robonatomz
my haro race bmx had chain tentioners like years ago. rob
ScotchDave
On the subject of the bolt stripping the thread, I think this could be a real probelm. However it's easily solved. Just run another nut on the inside of the dropout, where the axle would sit if it was as far in as possible.

Tomm
More new stuff! ← Cool :) Is it just me, or is THIS design a bit dodgy? I mean the stress running down the stays along the top edge goes nowhere?
Will Arnold
my haro race bmx had chain tentioners like years ago. rob ← yeah, they have one of those frames in my lbs, they are sweeeet :)
Bendee
the second danny butler prototype is also looking very nice. onza are really suprising me. never thought id see the day.
Mark W
I spotted that "Stock Proto 2" frame on there earlier when I got home from school, but I hadn't super thoroughly checked out the site when I was directed to the mod proto, so I thought it was probably old news :D But yeah, that stock colour looks a bit gash. I think with proto's it might be a better idea to do it more of a neutral colour just to get a better idea of the construction of the bike, but meh, probably why I'm not running a successful trials company :P Mark
Mike Poyzer @ Onza
Rest assured that any production version will be properly designed to ensure that the thread does not strip in the chain tensioning system. As I keep saying this is a prototype which will now be thoroughly tested by Ben Slinger over the next few weeks. Any lessons learned will be taken on board with the production version. Tom Booth
My thoughts on the frame, Quite nice, a litlle :D about the stays, but the tensioners are a good idea, could be used along side regular tensioners to get the tension perfectly how you want it, like to fine tune the tension. Good work onza, banging out some real quality now. Tom Edited April 21, 2005 by Tom Booth
Luke Drewery
The 20 and 26" frames both look very nice indeed, im not one who usually likes 'different' frame designs but i really like thise two. Its good to see frames that arent just a copy of another companys work :D
Tomm
Is there a reason why the front (sloping) bit of the chainstays doesn't follow the same plane as the downtube? I would have thought it would make more sense to put it in a straight line? Meh, I'm no engineer :D
fifty pence
i noticed that as well and i thought that to be a little strange too but maybe things might change after somone has actually give the bike a go.
Backgren
strangely looking mod, but time will tell if this new chainsstay design is any useful, might be :- just niticed the mounts for the bashplate, doesnt look like the frame will accept a normal bash... just a thought :D" the 2nd stock proto is truely gorgeous :D well done
