Krisboats
i'm no way near good enough to even want to attempt this and i don't know if it's possible, so i thought i would tell everyone. i was dreaming about being out riding the other night and i was doing all kinds of crazy shit. :P when i woke up i had myself convinced it would be possible for someone (not me) to do frontflip drop-offs. At first i was just thinking i was being stupid but i'm becoming more and more convinced it might be do-able. i reckon if you ride to the edge of the drop... probably about 5-6 feet and then really whack your front brake on to flip the back wheel up, if you pull the bike round you would be able to do the flip and land on the rear wheel. :) i know this sounds stupid but new things always seem stupid at first and so i want to know if you think it's possible/your crazy enough to do it. Ali C
I have been wanting to try them for ages but I am too much of a wuss to actually attempt them. Give me a foam pit or a swimming pool however :P
picki
team mad and a few others go over the bars without their bikes.....hmmm. how about an abubaka backflip? or go to the end of a drop with your arse over the end and pull back as hard as poss. could be doable... :P
ScotchDave
It's been tried/done by that trials guy in canada, he was in the raceface UFC.
boon racoon
could be doable... :P ← backflips like that aren't very doable unless u go to a drop which is too high to land front flips are interesting. seen one done on a freeride video down a fairly small cliff drop into a downslope so in theory u could do it. dunno how high u would have to go though on a vertical wall. ask james hawkins about frontflips he has some interesting theorys about how feasible they are lol
Ali C
yeah I remember seeing that. Wasnt it the freeride guy though? It was the guy doing it off the embankment onto the loose soil downslope wasnt it? looked pretty rad.

Lee_Buchanan
Wasnt nelson reis doing backflip dropoffs in the brisa dvd that was coming out/cam out ? cant_ride
The guy that did it on whatever freeride vid it was on practiced on a rigid bike into a foam pit off a 7 foot platform ( considering the foam started at about 4ft ) and after about 20 tries was hitting the foam ( approx 3 ft down ) with 2 wheels. someone get out there and do it. I was considering this years ago but i was just scared about how hard your forks would hit the floor after being jerked round 360 degrees. Would really kill yur wrists. oli
Dr. Nick Riviera
joe perizo did a front flip in the ufc , and someone did one in a freeride video as somone said ( its on extreme quite a bit ) dont think its possible , but if youre willing to try (Y)"

Matt_Tupman
Do you all remember the Ashton interveiw a while back when he broke his back and they were trying to get out of him why he was practising backflips well.... (Y)" I asked him at a demo what that was all about and he said it was the first stages of doing a frontflip drop which he has wanted to do for years :) so I think we may see some proper front flippage from someone in a few years time :)
psycho
the whole reason i started riding trials in the first place 3 years ago was because i wanted to be the first person to do a backflip off a wall. i often dream of riding at the bike show one year, completely unheard of, everyone saying whos that gafoon, he cant even trackstand all that well, then pulling a backflip off one of those standy up pipe things, and the crowd going mental. it all came about reading mbuk one day.there was some article about a guy doing a 9 foot drop onto sand (sorry cant rember who it was).something about the article or the photo suddenly made me say, hang on a minute if he just pulled up hard on the handle bars there hed go right over backwards. well needless to say other tricks stunts and tomfoolery have got in the way so i have never started atempting it.it does still play on my mind every so often though. get me a foam pit or swimming pool and id give it a go (hence the reason for my signiture name) cc
Phatmike
I have also been thinking about the front flip drop-off recently, ask people i ride with. (Y) I then recently discovered that it had been done (backed up by this topic, although i am still yet to se it...), but i still think it is possible on a trials bike - obviously for a lot of fun into some water. But yeah, it is possible.
JT!
Thats a millions times harder than it seems. Need alot of balls just to try it.
Brian Bleech
yeah i think its totally possible, just look how piss bmxers are backfliping now, matt beringer can backflip off anything (practically) and is pretty good at them front flips. I think front flip drop offs would be easier than backflip drops. Anyone remember old skool mbuk trickster Jez Avery doing a front flip off the edge of a peir. just pedalled along bunnyhop pushing donw ith his bars and pulling his arse end up :P easy as that :P :P  A few of us are going lakejumping in summer, could be one for then. mike
Littleharrys
The flip over the bars that the mad team do is not the same, that is much easier than it looks. But try pulling the front brake on and doing the splits to get your legs over the bars and letting go of the bars. You land in front of your bike. Kinda cool. Front flip drop off, cool idea huh? Thats what martin ashton was trying when he broke his back wasnt it?, he was gonna show it off at the bike show that year. RyanRs
the whole reason i started riding trials in the first place 3 years ago was because i wanted to be the first person to do a backflip off a wall. cc ← Dave Mirror did a backflip drop in off a 10ft wall with a sloped landing at the x-games (altho he did loose a foot on the pedal) he just rode along the top of the wall and when he bunnyhoped off it to land on the slope, he backflipped instead! i fort it was crazzy!
