fairy elephants
Right, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section. I have been looking tonight at riding in the national round which will be held at hookwoods on the 18th of september. What I would like to no, is weather anybody has any pictures of video clips of any of the expert sections at any of the nationals so that i no what i'm getting myself into. Also, I no i will have to get myself a BIU license, which is £10 i believe? but that shouldnt be a problem, i assume it's just a case of filling out the correct form? What I would like to no is what the entry fee into the actual even will be? I no the one i would like to enter is run by EBTC so will it be the same as their normal club trial entry fee's? and do i get the entry form from the same man in charge as all EBTC comps? Sorry for any spellings, it is late... Thanks for any help :S Alex :)
Mark W
Hey, Try checking out Section7; they've got some comp footage from a while back on there, and you can probably see the red markers around (if Expert's red in those comps...) in those. Slinger used to have some comp footage too... To be honest though, from my experience of the YMSA trials, the sections vary hugely. Been to two seperate comps at Bracken, and it's been totally different both times, despite using the same stuff. There's the BIU guidelines on what sections should contain somewhere (try Biketrials.com?) so you can at least get a sorta numeric idea of what to expect :S Good luck with it :) Mark
cleanbikes
Give it a go - you don't know till you try it! Probably just a little harder than a normal club comp. Rules are on www.biketrialuk.co.uk Entry fee to British Champ rounds this year is £13.00 and entry forms will be automatically sent to all British BIU licence holders. :S

fairy elephants
Thanks to a friend, I have been reminded that I have to have working gears to ride in a national competition, although i can not see it stated in the 2005 rules on www.biketrialsuk.co.uk. Could sombody please confirm weather or not i need to run gears, and if so,how many? Is a seat tube mounted shifter aloud? Cheers, Alex (Y)
Matt_Tupman
Yep we still have to run six working gear (Y) I run a seatpost mounted shifter with no problems from officials :( I'll see if I can find some pics
