ScotchDave
Hallo, good evening. Right I have a few parts I'd like to test on CAD. But I don't have CAD. I talked to a few people on MSN and one told me to find it on Kazaa, but I can only find autocad. I was told to get pro-engineer by a mate so want to get that. So my questions for this evening are: is one better than the other, where can I get them and any one got any pieces of advice they want to impart? OD404
Ok I'm guessing you've not modelled anything as yet (if you have, you'll need to specify what program you've used), so you will be looking for software to model then test the parts... In terms of getting a package that can do both, I'd recomend you have a look for Unigraphics NX (either version 1.0 or 3.0), it's the program I am currently using for my uni project. AutoCAD should be avoided at all costs because it will not do what you want. I myself am not really a fan of Pro-E, but if you can't find Unigraphics, then have a look for Catia as that is another top end program that will serve your needs well. As for getting hold of the software, you might as well forget Kazaa, it's wank for anything CAD related, my software library has come from a private hub on DC++, but you can get a lot of it using eMule (google it). If you need any more help, drop me a PM >_<
