Hi there.

I'm a nOOb to the profile stuff and have just bought a 13t rear cog for it, as 12t on my bike's too hard imo. so i thought why not, try a 13t. Can't do any harm.

I don't know how to take the cog off but i'm thinking this is how (please give me guidance / correct me)

Get the wheel off the bike.

Put a spanner / Adjustable onto the sproket size of the hub, on the flat bits.

Get a chainwhip. Tie it round the sproket..

Turn the sproket anticlockwise, while keeping the spanner from moving.

Sproket should come off?

Then whta do i do to put the new one on?

Pics would be VERY helpful as i've never taken one of these apart ever.

kepp the wheel in the bike

put the cranks level

stand on the leading crank

turn the spanner anti-clockwise

do exactly what you think you should do.

the cog is splined and just slides on and off, so take off the current one and replace it with the 13t and tighten it back up.

Theres a threaded lockring on the driver that locks the cog and spacer down onto it. The cog isnt threaded so dont use a chainwhip. you need a spanner (i think its 17mm) on the lockring, loosen it off any way you like, take cog off, put new one on, tighten lockring.

Also watch out the lockring doesnt loosen off on any rides afterwards - mine did and i needed to get a new one, but ive now got loctite on it.
