ANY kind of WTP

Used DFX Firefly (I think it was called) £200

And I think that that is the main choises. I would like to know what is the best bet. It would be great if you could recomend any thing that you think would be good. My limit is about £500 at the moment and these bikes are WELL under my limit.

Hey,

I bought the Foundation and on the whole I've been really pleased with it. It's full build weight is 30.5lbs, which isn't too bad for an entry-level complete. What I liked most about it though was just that it's a full 4130 frame, so you know it's got a decent chance of lasting. That's one of the things I don't like about the Fit and Eastern lower spec bikes - the Hi-Ten frames. It just seems pointless - it'd be like spending a shitload of money on a bike and having top of the range parts, but putting something like a Barracuda frame on it to ride trials on. The frame's crucial, so if it's made from wank metal you're looking at spending at least half of what you paid for the bike on a new frame, really.

My friend bought the WTP Thrillseeker Am spec though, and it's an awesomely good bike for the money. It's got a really, really good spec, and considering it was only £450-500 (or something...) it's really dialled. U's front and rear, chrome rims, 4130 frame and fork, decent bar and stem, 3-piece pinch-bolt cranks, 36:13 gearing - it's a pretty fly setup, and well worth a look. Same goes for most of WTP's range though - the Addict too looks properly good value for money

until recently i wouldn't look twice at the diamondback range, but for 2005 they wiped the slate clean and brought in a new designer.

I would certainly buy the diamondback fubar if i was in your position now.

You can take off the stickers if you are embarressed because it's a diamondback, but it really would be my favoured option.

It's all about the spec when you buy a mid price complete bike, as its all the small parts that you have to replace pretty quick.

The fubar comes with unheard of quality when it comes to spec. An odyssey evolver brake which is amongst the best aftermarket brakes, comes standard, as do 41thermal (lifetime guarentee) odyssey cranks, and 41thermal odyssey civilian bars. Also lifetime guarentee.

The whole bike is superb for the price and you will have many of the parts for years if you wish, unlike with many others where within a year you barely have any of the origional parts left as you progress andbreak things.
