Alexx
Yeah, but there is a 90% chance you'll have to pay import tax on them when it arrives at your door. At a guess on an ipod from the USA you'd be looking at £40. Then you'd need to by an adaptor plug because we are 3 pin not 2 pin.

Dan EDIT : IT IS ONE OF THSES BUT THE GUY SAYS THAT IT WILL BE SENT AS GIFT AND CLEARLY MARKED TO AVOID IMPORT TAX? WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I DONT PAY UP OR PAY IT WITHIN A CERTAIN TIME ? dAN Edited April 6, 2005 by aaron_trials _247

rocktrials
well a 2 plug 2 3 plug converter is only £1.50ish
Tim
Well i had to pay 28.50 TAX with Fed Ex, Also the shipping is 35 not 30. You are required to pay postal insurance with no opt out. Also the listing says "This item has been re-boxed for postage and to include the UK adaptor. The iPod and most accessories are factory sealed" but you do know they charge when docked with the PC, thus meaning no need for a UK plug. *Note that the Ipod there is 3rd Gen with 4th gen being the newest. Tim
yeh i am aware that it is and why do you Have to have insurance ? dan and what are the chances or tax? ← As said, if its lost in the post you are covered by the insurace. It basicaly means that if it is lost in the post the seller can get the items value back. Shipping a 140 quid item from the US has chances of getting lost, thus being out of pocket big time. As for chances of tax, a few people at work have ordered these and gotten away with it. I would say your about 1 in 5 chance of tax.
Boothy
If its going to cost £140+, then why not just buy one off there from the UK, would be much easier.
Munki
If you are in school then I belive you can get educational discount on an iPod if you get direct from Apple. Might be worth checking out...
sfboy
is it legal to avoid but illegal to evade tax?
Tomm
is it legal to avoid but illegal to evade tax? ← Something like that. But if everyone just paid taxes, it'd be fine. At the end of the day, it all comes back to us in terms of public services etc.
