Dai the Socket
So. I've had 2 maxxis tubes. Shamefully i know. The first one i cut through when opening the package from Tartybikes, with scissors. That'll teach me to open stuff more carefully won't it! So that one was a gonner, and i just threw it away. Ordered my next one for the saturday ride the next day. Got a puncture 2nd day of riding it. Snake bite when the tube was REALLY hard and it didn't even rim, not that me or my mates could tell anyway (Y) Then today I was riding bradford and ragged a wall to backwheel, it hit the rim very slightly, hardly anything at all and since i had a monty tube before that, It copes with stuff like that FINE. Then it was going a little soft and I realised I had puncture. Got to the car, drove to brighouse, repaired it (put on some "Park Tools Super Patches" which went on fine. Put it in, set it up, went riding again. Went riding for half an hour and it went flat again. As you could tell i was REALLY annoyed. I got it all off the wheel again, then put another patch on as this was only ONE hole. Checked the tyre and rimtape really thoroughly and nothing was to be seen. Comparing Maxxis 20" tubes to Monty ones, they seem so much thinner, and lighter, and much less beefy and suited for trials! I'm really not impressed and i'll get some pics of the tube in like half an hour once i've been bothered to get the tube out. I'm ordering a Monty Tube. Nick. Mark W
Why not just run a standard one? I've had a £3.50 tube in my back tyre since forever, and it's always run fine, really (Y) Even back in the Luna days it was OK? I think I've had about... 1 or maybe 2 punctures with it, at most. How much is the Monty one you're getting, and how much was the Maxxis?
JonMack
It's probably cos your so fat. Joke. Nah thats shit, you shouldnt expect that from any tube what so ever, unless its a tube of smarties or something. Try a moped tube, theyre thick as f**k. Or cut along the middle of a tube, and cut the valve out, so its like an extra protector thingy, kikda like this... ((())) The black is the tyre, the blue is the old tube, cut along the middle, then the red is the original tube. I dunno. Maybe lose weight? CH!P
Get a Schwalbe tube (Y) Brilliant. It's the one with the funny schraeder valve with a thread all the way down the stem and a locknut. Minted.
Mark W
Yeah, I had a Schwalbe tube with a standard car type (can't remember name :">) valve on it up front. Best tube ever (Y)

Mark W
It's just the way you said a funny Schraeder valve, I thought you meant "funny" as in the thinner one, if you get me. Meh, well that's what I thought. Plus it's hardly a lock nut, you b*****d
