cant_ride
How Good WERE you ... not where... some people can get good very quickly while others dont... it doesnt matter either way ... it depends who you ride with, how serious you are among many other things. for 2 years i rode trials without even knowing what it was ... id never seen the martins or any mags or videos... i progressed very slowly as a result but i had a bunch of fun doing it. anyway in answer to your question after a year i could bunnyhop up a curb and do 180's haha 7 years ago that was amazing stuff in these parts. oli

SamHolmes
there sam :- ← If you also look on the keyboard you'll see that the bracket symbol is above the 9 which would mean that he didint press shift, resulting in the 9

Tom Booth
Havent been riding a year yet, About 7 months, but not great, learning to control pedal hops well, can back wheel about 5 bricks, and can wheelie hop about 5-6 foot, can roll up about 2-3 foot, can drop about 2 foot comfatabley, can bunny about a foot 1/2 high. But before i rode trials i sucked anyway, so im still happy with my progress. Tom Edited April 2, 2005 by Tom Booth
Trebor
Not very good but used to have loads more fun :- Ditto, the feeling of first dialling a move was just, can't describe it. Watching the old skool TK vids and being like this  but with a droppped jaw. It's all about how much you practise, I mean you could have started riding seven years ago but only spent about 1 year of that actually riding. But I think there is alot more for me to do yet.
Spikenipple
I've been riding for about one and a half months and so far I can almost do a 180 nose pivot, i can get up three crates, drop off three crates (but it's scary as hell (Y)) i can bunny hop up curbs, i'm currently in the process of learning how to stay on the back wheel and that's about it :) One of the guys i've been riding with ('mike' on here, pre-member) has been riding about two and a half months and he can already gap from two pallets (high) across a 4 foot gap onto a single pallet, it's extremely impressive :D

I would prefer to be crap, because it gives me something to work towards. (Y)

Can't remember what i could do when i was 1 year into riding :"> Now i can: 180 gap, gap bikes length 3/4 Rail gap. Rail to Rail gaps (Y) Gap from backwheel upto backwheel bar height Sidehop 1-2" over bar height Backwheel bar height, just over on a good day. Do big ish gap drops. So yeh, i think i learnt quick apparently. I'm happy with my progress at the moment :):D
HarshRider
i think it all depends on who you ride with. for instance i started riding with people my level around 4 of us , all progressing at the same time as we started riding because we had nobody better than us often to ride with so we had no one to push our selfs! though as one of us 4 learnt a new "trick" we tryed and all progressed! then take some newer riders getting into trials as they saw us already at a higher level he replicated at a faster speed catching up and then maybe even progressing futher and faster than us! although there are also the lucky riders who are just natruals! :) i think the longer way is the funner way (Y) Rich
Dan6061
i suppose it does depend on who you ride with...and where. where i live there is like a 16" drop and 2miles oput the village there is a place with like 13 pallets.....great (Y)
rich4130
Not at the year mark yet, only been at the trial's game for nearly 7 month's but i'm not bad, can backwheel a loading bay nearly, gap over 6ft, wheelie gap over 8ft and drop about 7ft.
