No, the Maxxis single ply sidewalls are still much better sidewalls (and much better grip!) than a Hot-s, with an obvious wieght penalty.....

Maxxis highroller single ply 2.35 - 750g

Michelin HotS 2.2 - 630g

Not as much as I thought actually (Y)

They're pretty similar i believe - But if you're thinking of running on the rear, unless you're a smooooth rider or you run 60 PSI, i'd suggest getting a Dual Ply.

......But then you probably know that already :-

Yup running on rear had a Hot S on Rear with another tyre inside and only had two puntures so far. Thanks Fishwog :lol:

Maxxis hr single ply 2,35 is 850g (wire) or 810g (foldable), not 750:
