Tomm
Click me (Y) ← Firefox was really good for stopping pop-ups when I first got it, but in the last few months, I've noticed a few are slipping through the net. Perhaps the bastards who write pop-up scripts are becoming aware that more people are using FF, so they make them pop up even in FF? Either way it's f**king annoying. Still, FF is MUCH better than IE for pop-ups (Y) EDIT: Could I have used the phrase "pop-up" any more in that reply?

Danny
You have some spyware if you got that popup on TF. TF will NEVER have popups.

Given i was on a crack website, but still (Y) We will never be safe, ever. (Y)
tomturd
Its probably a popup from a program you have running in the background.. rather than off a website, so installing firefox alone wont help. Run ad-aware (someone posted a link about) then stop using IE and use Firefox instead and you should be rid of them for a while (Y)
The enchanted broomstick
dont download toolbars, toolbars are a main cause of spyware they are infested with it. you can go to www.panicware.com and download a free popup blocker, i run this at home along with zonelabs security which has a pop up blocker and havent ever had one popup through them. Mark W
Spybot and Ad-Aware haven't picked up any spyware/adware connected to my Google toolbar, which has currently blocked 1261 pop-ups since I reset it ages ago. Spybot and Ad-Aware are really good programes to use though; if you've not scanned your comp before you'll probably get a whole load of objects picked up by it; well over 400 on one of our school's computers... Nick Garland
Well for firefox you can get a pop-up blocker but most the time it is spyware. My friends computer used to take 10 mins, no joke, turning on after he entered passwrod as he had so many pop-ups from programs it was insane. Tomm
Google toolbar is fine, as far as I know. And probably Yahoo. But a lot of them are just spyware shit. But there's nothing really in the Google toolbar that Firefox doesn't have as standard...
