FAT~DAN Posted March 26, 2005 Author Report Share Posted March 26, 2005 (edited) rite here we go rite i already got a rooter and modem(telewest and yes it is a cable router) etc... linked up internet works fine , but i wanted to share one of my hard drives and loads of files between mey laptop and my computer and my mums laptop my computer is fine picks up both laptops and my shared files hdd's but my mums no matter how many times i set it up will not find anything or do it my pc is on windows xp home and my mums laptop is on windows xp pro my laptop is not important on this network so forget about my laptop but how do i go about seting this up ? nb88 Posted March 26, 2005 Report Share Posted March 26, 2005 Make sure both computers are in the same Workgroup name. go to control panel - system to see and change this (under 'Computer name' on XP).
