I am going to getsome new cranks, I have looked at the monty x-lite ones at £63 for the pair but they only come in 158mm.

Because I am used to 175mm cranks will the 158mm cranks have that much affect on me? Or should I chose alternate cranks? If I should chose diffrent ones what ones should I chose. Th tenesiles are just a wee bit to much for me.

Thanks Tom

Going from 175 to 158 is gonna feel realy different. I would try and get something in between, if you can get the 165mm tensiles, go for them.

The x-lites will be fine, but they take some getting used to.

Get the 158mms :ermm: I had 175mms for my first two pairs of trials cranks, then moved to 170mm racefaces and middleburns, now i have 158mm.

To be honest I dont think it makes as much of a difference as some people would say/think, although the monty cranks in my opinion are perfect- solid, light, cheaper, and they dont restrict my gapping.

I have moved from 175mm to 158mm then back to 175mm.

At first, yes, it feels different, but it doesn't take long to get used to it.

Personally, I prefer the longer 175mm cranks.

Ive had the X-lite cranks... they're good... but I snapped 2 arms. The first because Im a fat b*****d and the second because I filed a notch out the back of one to clear my frame with a short bottom bracket.

They seem fine for the majority of people.

Good luck!
