Trials Park

Hi everyone, all of the trials riders in Swineshead recently had a meeting with our local council rep to get a trials park built for us, and so far eveything seems to be going ok :S However we got some catalouges through today and the only things that are available to us is stuff for a skate park. So Does anybody know of a company that makes specific bike trials box's or whatever.

Thanks Very Much

Oli :D

I think you would be better geiing on to the council about getting something knocked up by normal contractors and the likes of council designers who make the town centres that we all love to ride.

Good luck with it.

all you should need is junk- sewer pipes, old cable reels, logs, rocks etc, most of them things will be cheap and some free so all the more reason for the council to say yes  :S

But wouldn't the council class things like that as "dangerous". Just a thought.

That's very accomodating of your local Council . Suggest to them hiring bricklayers , or even people in training .Useful experience for them , and a more streety park for you guys . This would also save the council money , as opposed to buying and installing "skate" type stuff . Everybody's happy . Be sure to keep in contact with the Council and nuture this unusually welcoming attitude , gives our sport a good reputation .

On the downside , however cool and ridable the end result , you'll soon feel confined and perhaps become bored of the same spot . As already suggested , perhaps some movable objects might keep it interesting ie pallets , spools etc .

Community service workers would be ideal there, for setting up a trials park.

They sound like good ideas, maybe some of you could post pics up of the sort of things other councils have built for you so we can show ours the sort of thing we would like.

Would probably help us loads.

Cheers.

(I ride with Oli By the way, not just a random person))

  • 3 weeks later...

Can anyone post some pics please?

Latest news.

We have started a comittee to make it all official and are doing things properly and then going to fundraise and run it as a group, similar to a kids football club.
