TheMunn
First i've heard but look's like a rather good idea, I can see lot's of hurt finger's trying to move the chain over though.
JT!
The idea is you run them with the double chainring cranks. So you physicly move the chain. If you move the chain from a big cog to small cog at the front, and move the chain from a small cog to a big cog at the back. (And visa versa) you get 2 seporate gears, with the chain been kept at the same length, therefor the same tention. :S
thechink
thats pimpin. i might try that out next. a riding gear to get you there and a trials gear. thechink
ben_travis
ah jt, u serached google much faster than i did, i was looking at this about 5-6months back at work, seems like a decent idea for u street riders who fancy two gears cheers ben
JT!
They have to be run on the double chainring cranks: IN - 35/19 = 1.84 OUT - 38/16 = 2.38 Both way too high gearing for trials :D You can't just run the freewheel on its own, with a single chain ring cranks or run it on the front with a 12t cog, as you would definatly have to undo the wheel. This probably wont work, as you wouldn't have enough chain. So if you wanted to change the gear, you would have to alter the length of your chain. :S nice thought though. Edited March 21, 2005 by JT! thechink
or if you run a stock with front freewheel. woot. thechink
JT!
Or just run a single ring up front, and some form of chain tensioner? :D ← Oh yeah, never thought of that. :D Then your only problem is getting your hands oily :S
mark-399
Or just run a single ring up front, and some form of chain tensioner? :S ← or for the same money they will prob charge for the freewheel get a stadard one with a nice lil 8 speed cluster :D"

Bionic Balls
I don't know if it'd work up front chinky...since the actual teeth are further over (not central on the freewheel), the chain might rub on your bashring when in one of the gears :S still...worth a try- you first! adam PS: i don't suppose they do a trials version with 72 engagements...wil they? JT!
ow much ratio gap would you be able to achieve? ← Depends what you have on the front.
andyzplace
wouldnt you have to move the wheel to change gear anyway. making it stupidly fiddly and annoying. bit of an arseache for trials, nice idea though.
