Dr. Nick Riviera
can i run my 4bolt mounts upside down as shown in my paint drawing below with the bit thats says magura underneath and the one with the flat surface facing upwards , so i can run washers instead of booster spacers and get it all closer to the frame key red = bit that says magura blue =bit with flat surface black= frame and 4 bolt mounts yellow = washers grey = booster
Danny
Try it. If they clear the frame then yes you can (Y) Dont see no reason why not.
Dr. Nick Riviera
would it make any noticable difference in flex?
G-Jordan
How about just leaving it the way it's meant to be?
Freddie
Well considering one of the clamps has a flat edge, I assume that means the one with the cylindrical edge wont fit? Try it, you never know though. (Y) Edited March 16, 2005 by Freddie
Dr. Nick Riviera
hows about experimenting and seeing if you can reduce flex by 10 minutes work
Danny
hows about experimenting and seeing if you can reduce flex by 10 minutes work ← Go try it then and report back.
eMAyaRKay
Is the flat edge not there because of clearence issues, so wouldn't the other side be too big? (Y) Oh well, if it works, it works.
Tomm
hows about experimenting and seeing if you can reduce flex by 10 minutes work ← Go on then (Y) You're only gonna find out by trying. My prediction - There's probably not enough clearance. But try it, don't just talk about it!
Urpedigreechumdog
I've tried it and it didn't work on my echo es4r but it might work on other frames (Y)
Dr. Nick Riviera
it works (Y) seems to be a tad stiffer too but not much , so probably not worth it its does work on my t-raptor , so goes to show try it and find out (Y)
durkie
the 4 bolt brackets i've seen have had curved edges on the bottom brackets that fit over the mount itself. this isn't present on the top bracket. that means your bracket is not going to mate as well with the mount as it would if it were run the right way, and might actually sit higher. i mean seriously, 4 bolt boosters all have like 10 mm of spacers underneath them already. if you really think you can feel the flex (questionable to begin with), then why not design a booster that can fit around the mounting bracket and doesn't need spacers?
