World Jump Day?

Hahahaha. I just got pasted this on one of my many chat resources.

http://www.worldjumpday.org/

So, you think its actually possible? Do you actually think any of the 77 million are actually serious? :)

More so, you going to do it? (Y)

I would laugh though, on that day/time if you did jump and the world did actually drop, and as you landed from your jump, the world did actually shake (Y)

Sorry if this seems really random, but i found it highly amusing :P

- Jump for a better world, sign up today!

- Stop the greenhouse effect, jump!

Sorry if anyone is signed up and serious about it by the way, no harm intended.

If they want to be sure where the Earth would head if it did move, they'd have to make sure no people on some continents jumped, or it'd screw the force spreading up..

I don't believe in it, but it's a funny idea.

i've signed up, sounds like a good idea. I dont think it'll work though, surely if everyone in the world does it, we would simply be pushing against people in say australia, so the world wouldn;t move out of orbit, but simply get smaller?

anyhoo, i've even ordered a Tshirt for only £12! you cant go wrong! (Y)

darn tht would be cool....how gutted if we changed the orbit....and a asteroid came straight towards us

hehe naa you just get everyone in the eastern hemisphere to jump and push it back to its old orbit again......obviously. Hehe it sounds really silly, surely if it can move the earth it would cause other massive movements causing tsunami, earthquakes, other horrific disasters etc etc.

Funny idea , great for social bonding , but utterly ineffective at altering the Earth's orbit in any way . Humans seem to think they're so damned powerful . Sure , there's lots of us but I reckon all humans alive now probably only cover 5 % of the Earth's surface , if that .

Even then there are miles and miles of crust and mantle to dissipate any shock . It's like blowing into your own sails , the force needs come from outside . The entire human population jumping simultaneously would be comparable to 20 ants attempting to move a car .

If I'm wrong , and when it happens there is any measurable movement , I will give whatever Trials bike I ride at that time to the first person on here who can post evidence . (Y)
