Phatmike
Usually putting the bolt/bb in at a dogey angle causes it, although it's often due to a small bit of grit or something on the thread, and when you unscrew it say, it will try to plough it through the threads! JonPace
its always been overtightening with me, even when 4 bolts don't feel that tight they seem to decide to strip.
JTM
With the likes of a BB, its pretty bloody hard to stip through brute force. Its usually putting them in like a spaztic.
Janson
Also depends on how the hole is threaded.. The hole might have been drilled too big, so that the threads aren't very deep.
JT!
I knacked my threds when i was trying to put my 4 bolt clamps on, and the bolts were a bit short, they only screwd in half a turn, and then jumped back out with the bits of matal with them. :) :)

ScotchDave
Well, I have seen one bb thread dead, some eejit tried to take his out the wrong way, thought it had seized so he went and got a scaffolding pole. (Y) (Y)

(Y) :) ← Eejit! ^^^^^ Had a customer who had used Locktight 680 (liquid metal) to stop his bb creaking. :P No noise but when it came to removing it we had to put the bb tool in the vice and get 3 people to push the frame around. Got it out but it did take a little thread out with it. Fine after a re-tap. (Y)
