squince
My 2005 echo rim is cracked on the join, is this bad?. It is cracked on either side where the join is. If it is bad would it be under guarentee? I got the rim on a bike of phil williams. cheers andy
BI-KING
It should be ok if you keep the spokes tight, it happens to alot of rims but doesnt really affect their preformance, so it should be fine :) :)

In which case, pull the dent out and grind back over it, it will be fine :)
squince
Cheers thanks alot, thats one thing of my mind. I took it apart because the spokes were all snapping. Im going to build it back up with some stronger spokes. cheers andy
AdamR28
I took it apart because the spokes were all snapping. ← :) Crikey. A decent wheelbuild will prevent spokes snapping more than having better spokes, if you get me. Either way, good build + decent spokes = good strong wheel :)

Tartridge
Sounds interesting. Who's wheel is it? What rim and hub? How old is the wheel? He should have spoken to me :)
JTM
On any pre-built bikes where the wheels are built by a machine, the wheels always going to need a bit of tweaking at first. I assure you phil builds the bikes up to a top standard and tries to have a go at tensioning each wheel, but he's only just getting selectbikes.com off the ground so things are a bit hectic round his ways (in his warehouse/mahoosive shed anyways! :) )
