MrMonkey
You mean you need a full setup? If so you'll also need a case, a Power Supply Unit (PSU) and Disk Drives, and all the cables which will probably come with it.
rocktrials
i know i would need that stuff......but im just asking for peoples opinions/views on what they would go for.

tank_rider
motherboard: ABIT NF7 V2.0 Processor: Athlon XP 3200+ Heatsink and Fan: Speeze Lightowl RAM: OCZ Premiere Graphics Card: ASUS Radeon 9550 Hard Drive: Maxtor 160Gb Most of the componants there are of a decent quality and so should form a good fast reliable system. Total of £342 for the above from ebuyer including postage. if you want to cut a bit off the cost then maybe consider cutting down to 512Mb of ram, which should shave roughly £50 off the price, but try to go for something other than ebuyer value ram, as it is pretty shite. rocktrials
how about this..... motherboard: link processor: 3200xp memory: crucial 512mb graphics: sapphire hard drive: maxtor comes to £312 buying the motherboard and processor together....no VAT which is good. tank_rider
looks good, although getting a gfx card with 256Mb RAM on it at that level wont make very much difference but will cost more, if they do a 128Mb version of the same card i would go for that. Krisboats
I'm looking at getting a new pc as well... and as i've never played games on it before because my computers have never been good enough i would like to start by playing something truly amazing like half life 2, far cry, doom 3 etc. I'm looking at getting This PC and was wondering if it would be good enough to do this. I'm gonna get a 17" tft screen with it and a windows xp home operating system. The shop is a local one so i can just go and pick it up because i hate couriers so don't suggest internet shops or anything. Oh yeah and my price range is no more than this either so i can't have anything truly incredible.
rocktrials
would something like this be better then? radeon from 9600 to 9800, going from 256mb to 128mb
thesubway
Try to stay away from sapphire or se model graphics, as there lower spec models of the real thing and there slower. Thats what i was told on a computer forum when i was going to build my own :) Richie
Tomm
I'm looking at getting This PC and was wondering if it would be good enough to do this. ← If you put a decent graphic card in, then yes. As it is, it'd be pretty rubbish for any kind of gaming. Apart from the graphics, it looks OK, perhaps slightly overpriced though. Try to stay away from sapphire or se model graphics, as there lower spec models of the real thing and there slower. ← You're right about avoiding SE's, but Sapphire is a brand name. They make everything from SE up to XT/whatever. So it pretty much doesn't make any difference what make you get. Sapphire is fine :)
