Bondy
bit like the spanish influenza that the americans (i think) kindly bought over for us all to have so we could share it with everyone, killed millions of people, well it killed more people than who actually died in WWI. I suppose there hasnt been a massive epidemic, pandemic in aaages so it wouldnt surprise me if this one spread itself out a bit, as i dont think they have a cure for it either. Some things get hyped up due to the media though and arent actuallyas bad as it seems. Also surely if it mutated it would kill 'alot' more people than 50,000 people especially in certain countries where they cant quarantine people quickly enough so it spreads about even more and spreads to other countries etc etc. dont mean for this to sound harsh but 50,000 people is not alot when you look at it on a world wide basis which the flu is capable of spreading to, even for a country 50,000 is not alot of people when you look at its population. thesubway
You can only catch it if you touch a bird or you touch a product thats had bird droppings on, they have never known humans or birds to pass it on unless you touch them. Lol, and they say it could be anytime realy this month, next month or 10 years time, but its just life  . Richie.

Richie. ← Thats why they are worried about it mutating or whatever, because it can mutate with a common flu we get which would make it even worse and also it can then be happily passed from person to person and really cause some damage to the world. oh well lets just wait and see

(Y) Richie. ← dont be silly us 'commoners' arent good enough to get things like that (Y) they have to keep spares for extra special people (Y) in a worst case scenario, it would be special people that work for the government and stuff, clever people, army and there families and so on, then other people will get them slowly, but if the flu was to come over and be able to pass from human to human without a cure it would spread like wild fire and we'd all be a bit buggered to be honest.

Tomm
dont be silly us 'commoners' arent good enough to get things like that (Y) ← They're giving it to healthcare professionals (obviously), and anyone who is at risk. If that includes you, you'll get it. That's what the NHS does...

Tomm
But surely every one is at risk?. Richie. ← Yes, you better run for the hills, we're all gonna die! At a guess, "at risk" means the people that have come into contact with someone with the disease, or people who see lots of people (Doctors etc), people who can spread the disease (Transport types), and people who would be very badly ill if they did get it (Elderly people etc). EDIT Woohoo, I'm a Doctor now (According to me TF name), I'm not gonna die of flu. Screw you suckers (Y)

Michael Hardman
I know this is blunt and prob inmoral but think about it the other way. Why are there diseases in the first place. My theory is they are here for a reason, a practical reason that is to control population increase.

Tomm
Who cares?! I mean you gotta die of something... ← Better later rather than sooner though? And yeah, everything happens for a reason. It's not immoral at all. With all the advances in medicine over the years, it's very easy to think we're immortal. People don't like to believe that one day everyone is going going to die. But diseases are around to stop mankind literally piling up on top of each other. In fact, by that logic, you have a strong argument for homosexuality being a disease. But let's not go there (Y)

Oh my god i'm going to die of bird flu, Someone give me a hug i'm feeling fragile? That sort of reply better? Also I'm Not acting "tough" at all. Its just i don't expect to live till i'm 110. I'm gonna die one day and so are you. But if you've had a fun life and done what you've wanted to then once again, Who cares? P.S. If i'm a twat your a spanner. the666ers
I was hardly acting tough (Y) I'm just saying that every now and then there will be a scare, people will make a massive fuss, a month later nothings happened and David Beckham is back on the front page of all the news papers, because of a new tatoo. biketrialler
Cant help but think those that are saying that they think these things happen for a reason, and get over it, you die anyway - would be thinking VERY differently if they knew they had a week to live. If I had the chicken flu thng Im sure has hel wouldnt let it take me without a fight. Im never unwell in a serios way, I get the begins of the flu but it never develops and is gone within a day. biketrialler
I do indeed think there must be some reasons - to control the population and wipe out certain classes. However a flu like this could be is hardly something I can think is fine, and support - Its going to take out too many good innocent people.
