tomturd
You need a Desktop PC with a graphics card with a video out port, and a laptop with a video in port. OR Check out this
dirtbiker
Its also possible to wire up a laptop lcd to a conventional monitor output (like you'd find on the back of a graphics card) although this gets quite involved on the electronics side and requires a (sometimes costly) circuit board to get it to work. :ermm:

delusional
What OS are you running on the desktop machine? If it's XP then you can use remote desktop, which is actually very good. Only use VNC if you absolutely have to, it's as slow as hell - even over a 100meg LAN.
