Dai the Socket
My mates just been offered a job at halfords Friday 5.30 - 8pm and Saturday 9.30 - 5.30pm. He's 17. How much will he get a month? Also what's working there like? It's a bikehut in halifax and he'll be in the bike department. I'm thinking about quitting Sainsburys after i've confirmed a job there. Thanks  Nick
Stephen Morris
They can pay him what they want, the wages in different stored vary. Why not ask your friend what he's getting. Then take that number and multiply it by 10.5. Then take that number and multiply it by 4. You now have your answer. His starting wage will probably be around £4.80 if he's 17. mad_gavo
I get £4.80 an hour i think but i heard that they were changing it to £4.20 for people that started this year :P i read this somewhere but it may not be true so check it out or better still ask your mate (Y) working there is pretty good at our store all the staff are really friendly and get on well together and i met two new people to ride trials with that work there :S only downside to the job are times when it is real busy as these can be pritty stressfull especialy when all the people that have problems with bikes turn up at once  as these situations can produce pritty bitchy customers :) but for somebody that likes bikes its a pritty good job :) + been able to get 15% off of parts for your car and bike is always a bonus :)
Will Arnold
i get 4.68 you need to multiply you hours per week by 4.3333 recurring to get your monthly wage, actually! (Y) Will
the666ers
You don't have to work at Halfords you know, he could always apply at somewhere else. B&Q has a starting rate of 5.15ph for anyone, Next pay £5.30, just get him to hunt around before assuming Halfords is the best place. Also, if it has to be with bikes, then he should try to apply at a bike specific store. Some pay pretty well, above 4.80 anyhow, and you're likely to be able to get parts for trade. I reckon your starting wage will be crap mate, yorkshire area halfords is a bit f**ked financaly, ask Tim :ermm: But yeah you don't get that much discount either You could get at least a £5er doing admin work or working in a better shop Mike
