Sam Nichols
If your that worried about one tiny chemical in a food you eat, slightly increasing your risk of a cirtain random condition you need to live life a little more, stop living off endless statistics and the press...← Dude, it doesn't scare me one bit! I only put this up because it was on the news and I thought the forum might like to see it. Firstly I DONT eat microwave meals and ready meals and stuff because they're full of shit and secondly I drink too much alcohol, have smoked pot, work with oil and shit all day, nuke my cups of tea/coffee nd leftovers and I never wear sun lotion. So there you go. :- Now get the f**k out my house. :)
Extreme_biker0
Alex, how many people do you know who have died of cancer. Probably a few. Dont you wonder what causes this? As opposed to say 50 years ago, when the life expectancy was similar but cancer wasn't such a big killer? Its technology, the developement of all these things which obviously are not natural and should not be eaten, but are adopted and used in foods because fat cat food producers want to make more money. Why use sugar in your roller cola if you can use phenyl-alanine? So what if its a carcinogen, I wont drink it! Let the people die for my profits. Their conciences are helped by the fact that it is very hard to prove that anything gives you cancer, becuase well we dont understand it TOO well yet, and hey, who's going to fund research if it means the loss of jobs at Roller Cola Inc? And yes alex, the sun WAS shining 50 years ago but it didn't give them cancer. In fact it was shining brighter 100 before that (due to particle pollution nowadays) but cancer wasnt a killer. Then maybe it didnt have chance back then but anyway... Did you know a lot of farmers have a bit of land set aside for growing veg for there own personal use. They see all the barrols of stuff with warnings on being spread on the fields, and make a decision.

Alexx
Alex, how many people do you know who have died of cancer. Probably a few. Dont you wonder what causes this? As opposed to say 50 yea ← I know exactly where your coming from, I know several people who died of cancer. But the fact remains, whatever you do in life there is this underlying 'risk factor', Sure the development of technologies means that my chances of contracting cancer have been increased... but I could walk out the house tomorow morning and get get hit by a bus. The point I was making is, they only recalled this stuff because it's the LAW. On a scale of dangers in every day life this rates 0, it's just how the press have hyped it up past what it's worth. And yes alex, the sun WAS shining 50 years ago but it didn't give them cancer. ← The sun has always given out ultraviolet radiation, so has always caused skin cancer. Oddly enough UV radiation penitration is one of things that recent poloution / climate chance has had little effect on.

delusional
You shouldn't shop in any supermarkets. They're all full of over-priced, under-nutritious food that's got to the shelves through the pain of the producers. That aside, I like the fact that everyone is getting all worked up about this chemical that was perfectly legal until 2002. *shrug* personally I try and avoid as much non-organic produce as possible. When I leave London in a few months I intend to increase the percentage of organic food in my diet even more.
