Mr Motivator
Yesterday I was using my cd drive just to read stuff, not to write.. Today I put a CD in and nothing happened, so I opened up My Computer and there was no cd drive there :) . So went into the control pannel thing and looked up in the Add Hardware and it was there, also in microsoft technical terms 'its working properly' so why wont it work? Check out these; ^^ I selected the hardware and hit next.. ^^ It says its working?!? Has anybody got any ideas to what has happened? :) Sam :)
The enchanted broomstick
maybe the driver? i had this problem myself just a few days ago except my computer didnt recognise a cd drive at all so i had to take the computer apart to find out the make and model of it!!! i suggest rebooting the computer to see if this helps, if not then go the the manufacturers website and download the neccessary driver, hopefully this should sort the problem out. stav
or try deleting it disconnecting it from the motherboard turning off , reconnect then re install usually works with most hardware ← well seeing its a laptop that would be hard doing it, i would ring up the shop you got it from and have a massive go at them and expect a new one, say you need it for work badly and usually in there policy they have to supply you with a new one while urz is being fixed. otherwise go and post this on a computer forum they will give you proper help and will solve it for you 90% of the time. http://forums.bit-tech.net or http://forums.overclockers.co.uk Stav
