Bigman
I was just wondering if anybody has any quick ways of removing anodizing from an aluminium object other than alot of sanding? I have heard that baking soda does, but is that true. Thanks Adam
JonMack
Caustic soda and water mixture, drop the bits in there, but not for too long, then the anodizing should just come straight off with a rag, make sure you wear thick rubber gloves though, caustic soda is right f**ker if you get it on your skin, think burning and lots of it :D
Fishwog
Oven cleaner also works..... Also, there is no quick or easy way of doing it, it takes bloody ages to get off well... I done it with a pair of old 'burns, god it took ages!
the666ers
I managed to make some pink Megamo bars silver by polishing them for ages on a wheel with the proper soap...it takes a while but works in the end. Just experiment :D James
Danny
Google says The proper way to strip anodizing is as follows: 30% phosphoric acid to 70% DI water. If you stay on top of the striping tank, you should be able to test when the nickel acetate is dissolved , and the dye is starting to dissolve. Test by rinsing in running water. The above solution is designed to attack only the anodic coating, and not the substrate material. Best of luck,
