Mark W
Ho all If any of you have been to nopogo.org, you'll know they've got plenty of "top dollah" vids. However, they're all on the nopogo ftp server. Here's the problem. I've downloaded Filezilla, but how the crap do I use it to get onto the nopogo ftp? To quote the Nopogo page: NopOgo has it’s own FTP server (File Transfer Protocol). This system allows visitors to share images and videos between one another. To use the FTP server you must download an FTP client. I advise you to use Filezilla. It is a very good free program under the General Public License. You can find it on http://www.sourceforge.net To configure Filezilla you need to fill these field : Host : nopogo.no-ip.org login / user / ID : visiteur password : visiteur ATTENTION : The FTP server is not always open. I close it when i sleep (my computer is very noisy) or when i’am on vacation. Thanks to those who upload and share their files! So how do I access it? What user ID and password do I need to use? I didn't get what they meant up there, so do I have to make my own account or something? Thanks, Mark.
Sameer
In the host field type nopogo.no-ip.org In the User field type visiteur And in the password field type visiteur Then it should load up the directory for you to jizzle around with. Mark W
Weird shit - that was what I did before, and it didn't work - tried it again and it's just gone "yak yak yak directory listing successful". Odd.
endofreak
ATTENTION : The FTP server is not always open. I close it when i sleep (my computer is very noisy) or when i’am on vacation. That might have something to do with not being able to access it.
Mark W
Yeah, true, but I'd never used an FTP client before so I didn't know if it was me being shit :"> Speaking of 'being shit' - 9kb/sec file transfer rate?
Corish
Yeah, true, but I'd never used an FTP client before so I didn't know if it was me being shit :"> Speaking of 'being shit' - 9kb/sec file transfer rate? ← It is complicating at first! Its rather easy once you know though (Duh!, lol) Also if you can get CuteFTP, very simple to use. corish
DJ Phaze
Yeah, true, but I'd never used an FTP client before so I didn't know if it was me being shit :"> Speaking of 'being shit' - 9kb/sec file transfer rate? ← The guy is probably sitting on a basic ADSL line, or Cable connection. ADSL has an upload speed of 256Kb max I think. Cable has something small like 128Kb due to the nature of the communications technology. It would be nice if the *host* paid for a SDSL line - then the upload/download bandwidth would be the same (Y)) Freedom2Surf do SDSL, along with ADSL. And the ....nopogo.no-ip.org ..... means he has a Dynamic IP - which doesn't help matters..... Just sounds like some kid trying to set up a full-blown FTP server on their telephone line, without actually doing the back-ground reading of whats required to do so properly... :: Phaze ::
biketrialler
Or a kid without loads of money, that wants to share his videos the best he can.
