RicH_87
Look it doesn't matter how much stuff you bolt onto your car it will never be a Copper, it wasn't made at the Copper garages and it doesn't come with a certificate or have a plate under the bonnet showing that it is a Copper. Im sorry to piss on your fire but like Prawn I get anoyed when Mini owners are trying to sat there car is something that it isn't Also another big thing is that the a Copper of that age would have been injection and yours isn't. Bucky
btw! bucky or anyone who knows him. don't get those arospeed wheels! i have them, they are not made for the british market so they are not prepared with our weather/salt in mind! they corrode on the dished rim really badly and arospeed are a b*****d to get a warranty replacement off... the corrosion is really bad all round the dish on all four wheels and i know of at least 5 other people with the same problem! while i'm here this was my first kev car renault 5 turbo dimma, that used to cost me £2500 a year to insure. was fast and handled well but not a patch on the civic! ← bit late:
UrbanLegend
Those Arospeed wheels go like that because they have no sort of laquer on them. They are an extremely high quality wheel, so they are nice and polished simply due to the way they are made, unlike many other makes. A mate of mine just keeps them clean and applies wheel wax to them when he washes the car (more often this time of year) and they have been fine for ages. Bit of an arse cleaning wheels all the time, I hate doing mine (multi spoke wheels are a nightmare!) but worth it when they look as good as the Arospeeds. hititfaster
Here's what I drive at the moment: (all loaded up ready for NASS '03 here :ermm: ) Here's what I'll be driving by the Summer (sometime): I've done loads to it since this was taken: K&N filter installed, exhaust re-worked to give more clearance all round (and proper silencer on now!), electrics almost complete, rollbar made and fitted, seatbelt points welded on... if all goes well it will be on the road for the summer! Prawny Baby
:P mate i havent got the 1000cc in there anymore. i have a 1275cc stage 1 engine with a Hs44 carb in there now. so can i say it is now, or am i not allowed still............. spoonz ← nope, still not a cooper, simply a mayfair with cooper stickers and a metro engine.... No you can never say it's a copper as it will never be one sorry but thats just the way it is I've got a straight cut dog box coming for mine next month (Y) should sound like a beast oh and I have a 45doc Webber to fit once I have a filter for it so that should give it a bit more bottem end. Oh I just love the A series engine :"> so much to do so little time :P ← agreed about jamies mini.... but you really CANT use a clutchless dog box on the road, it would need a rebuild every few thou!!!! and a webber 45 takes away ALL bottom end torque, but gives a bit more top end, with a webber itll be flat under about 2500/3000rpm. your FAR best off with an HIF44, good for 110bhp, and loads more bottom end than a webber.... cheaper too! Well if your gunna say that about my mini , then its the fastest MINI 1000 with a 1275 cooper engine in , but that then would make it a cooper just because its so fast and people would say its a cooper. but im not aloud to say it is............... god. i agreed that is was not a cooper to prawn before i put the 1275 engine in , and he said "thanks" and stuff, his main reason being it was a 998cc engine and not a 1275 ........... so i think ill just say its a mini 1275 racer then ? hmmmmmmm sounds naff. i think ill stay with mini cooper.......... sorry , because i see it as one thankyou , unless you can think of any silly thing to say its not. like year.......... :ermm: hahahha ← cant say its the fastest 1000 with a 1275 either because it cant be faster than mine tehehe is mine a cooper? thats a tough one. it was made by rover as a flame, but before being sold to the public it was sent of to JCG for a cooper conversion, had a cooper head fitted, twin hs2 carbs, and a cooper freeflow exhaust, along with the half leather interior. oh, and it has the cooper id plate and sticker on the rocker cover :P so i guess mine actually IS a cooper, although thats open to debate. considering JCG never MADE any cars, tehy only modified mayfairs that rover sent them.... also, most 1990's coopers havnt been anywhere near JCG anyway, rover just stuck the stickers on and that was that.... Sorry :ermm: ← sadly coopers wernt made in 88, so the closest age to his is the rsp cooper in late 89, which was actually a carbed model, as were the first of the production ones until late 91/early 92 when they went over to single point injection.... MUHAHAHAHAHAHA i undermine you all with my superior mini knowledge :- pics of mine to follow.... although i warn u, its nice, but amazing by any means.... Should be fine (Y)" I may not go for the dog box just the straight cut and it saves a bit of money aswell :- I ment to say 40doc :"> not 45 and it should be ok as the engine is heavily modified i'm not just wacking a webber on :ermm: the engine is out at the moment and will be going to 1340 but not sure on the full spec my dad is doing it :turned: It should all be fine :P Edit; come one Prawn I want to see your Mini Edited January 27, 2005 by Xdream

Dannytrials
Ok I don't strictly meet the criteria but... As for the post about corroding wheels, use autosol to get them shining then use some form of wax on them. I use wax it wet on my wheels and it keeps them looking good. If I go out in the wet then leave it overnight without cleaning the wheels they start to corrode if i don't use anything.
