montybiketrial
The best way to compare them in my opinion is to simply... Use the search... There much of been 100 topics on each... :ermm:
*OnzaMike*
Basically from one extreme to the other? Short to Long ? 221 ti being short? and python being long.
SQuiT-man
Yeh, but aren't they both meant to be really good for power moves compared to others?
SQuiT-man
OK Ive gone through a lot of searching and havent found a single thread which compares the two. So can anyone tel me how the compare for power moves? Im 5 foot 8, so which would you think would best suit me?
TheMunn
Well i would have thought that the monty is alot more comp orientated, while the python, being designed by Craig Lee Scott, is more street orientated. I think the zoo! would be stronger and its obviosly longer, while the monty is shorter and maybe not as strong. I think that at your height that either bike would suit you, i mean your not super tall or short so you could handle the zoo! but the monty would feel more 'flicky' Hope this helps. ! SQuiT-man
Ok cool. I am starting to get into a lot of bmxy style stuff on mods- would a 221 ti be ok for this? You say its probably a more comp-orientated frame, but wouldnt the geometry make it good for manuals? Or am I wrong? Wouldnt a python be pretty hard to do stuff liek manuals? Cheers, Scott
Tartridge
Dont forget the Python also comes in Yao Zhi version, which is nice and short, very similar to the Monty in geometry terms (1005mm wheelbase)... The Monty is comp-orientated, but thats mainly due to the weight and parts. The YZ Python has the same geo (pretty much), but is much beefier, bit heavier, but made of a much better material (U6 rather than 7005). Manuals schmanuals... you can do them on anything once you get used to it (N)
roozor
Any bike is fine for manuals, it's just about practice! Plus plenty of guys can manual pythons
