Mr Motivator
:( OK, well my grind and plaz pads did work, and they worked very well. Then I set my brake up again and it went poo. So im back on tar, any ideas to make the breaking surface smooth again? Bit different I guess
AdamR28
Your pads need to bed in again. Re-grind your rim, set the pads up as squarely as you can... and then just leave it :( And put the tar in the bin :-"
Trebor
Umm, sand paper'd do the job, slowly . . . Just ride it more until it's worn to a flat surface, then your brake'll be fine :- Edit: Why God why does Adam always beat me to posts :(

trials_pimp
Dont waste your time Plaz pads are very good on a grind. Set your brakes up, and give it some time t bed the pads and the grind in. Let is get rid of all the swarf, and flakey bits, and you will be left with an amzing brake.......... Dylan_
I found when i was trying a wire brush as a grind alternative it can smoothen a rim, if you have a long wire. just find a wirebrush at your hardware store, and put it in your drill and lightly rub away the grind you don't want. somethign like this, maybe a little longer wires http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/Exenth/DSCF1430.jpg tips: the shorter the wire, the deeper the scratches. the longer the smoother Edited January 20, 2005 by Dylan_
nb88
I'd keep using a grind... but if you dont want to you could put 2 bits of sandpaper between the pads and the rim and ride around with the brake on.

Brisa
It took me ages with an electric vibratey sander thing once.... probably not worth the hassle.
